Law & Order: SVU actress Mariska Hargitay recently posted a snowy selfie with her husband, Peter Hermann. The actress plays Olivia Benson on the hit series and actually met Hermann while working on the show. Now, they’ve been married for almost twenty years.
“Love and peace,” she writes in the caption.
“This is so beautiful,” one fan wrote in the comments. “I hope you’re having the most joyful and festive holiday season.”
“Peace and love in the New Year,” another fan wrote.
Hargitay and Hermann are both actors. Hermann was hired to play a part on Law & Order: SVU and they took a liking to each other while filming. They have three children together. Hermann was set to play Defense Attorney Trevor Langan on an episode that ran in 2002.
The two shows recently had a crossover episode that followed Stabler and Benson once again working together to solve a case, with this one hitting very close to home with prosecutors putting Richard Wheatley on trial for killing Elliot Stabler’s wife.
Organized Crime is the newest of the Law & Order spinoffs. It stars Chris Meloni, who left Law & Order: SVU after a contract dispute with NBC. Fans were really sad to see him go, so now that he’s back, the crossover events are always a big hit. Fans are particularly interested to see how the relationship between Benson and Stabler develops.
The Next Episode of ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Premieres in 2022
Hargitay recently wished her fans a Merry Christmas. Law & Order: SVU is on a break right now as people enjoy the holiday season. But it will return in January with a Holiday themed episode. The episode will run on Thursday, January 6th, and will come back right as Law & Order: Organized Crime is set to come back.
The next episode is holiday-themed but will take on a less personal approach, and it certainly won’t be cheery. It’ll follow the team as they investigate a string of brutal crimes.
“The Special Victims Unit is called in to help investigate a wave of hate crimes on Christmas Eve. Rollins catches up with an old flame,” the synopsis reads.
Fans can expect an intense case coupled with some drama for Rollins and Carisi, who started dating at the end of season 22. How this old flame will impact their relationship is unclear at this point. Things have been going quite well for the two so far.
If you want to catch up on Law & Order: SVU before it airs, you can watch episodes on Hulu or NBC’s Peacock streaming service.
