Even after 23 seasons full of twists and turns and pretty gruesome scenarios, “Law & Order: SVU” is still able to come up with some awe-worthy stories for each of their episodes.

The upcoming 12th episode in season 23 is no exception to the drama-packed world of “SVU.”

This episode will be the third in 2022 for the decades-long program. It is set to air on January 20. The new episode will feature a very high-profile case that thrusts the characters working in the Special Victims Unit into a very bright and frightening spotlight. The new episode is “Tommy Baker’s Hardest Fight.”

Looking Forward to the Mid-January Episode

This time around, it’s not about a politician or even a powerful lawyer, as we’ve seen time and time again, but something else entirely. This episode is about a very influential athlete. The team gets a call after an athlete, a fighter to be specific, doesn’t show up for one of the biggest events of their career.

The official synopsis states what will go on in the episode.

“When a popular fighter doesn’t show up for the biggest bout of the year, Rollins and Velasco are drawn into a complicated web of secrets. McGrath confides in Benson.”

Not only is it a high-profile case, but it’s also going to bring out a complicated string of secrets. Although the episode doesn’t immediately sound dark, we have to expect the worst. It is “Law & Order: SVU,” after all. Expect some really dark storylines to come from this missing fighter plot arc.

Before we can watch this episode, there are still two more episodes of “Law & Order: SVU” to witness. The first is on January 6 and is “Silent Night, Hateful Night.”

The synopsis for this episode states, “The SVU is called in to help investigate a wave of hate crimes on Christmas Eve; Rollins catches up with an old flame.”

Despite Christmas being a few weeks ago, “Law & Order: SVU” is bringing back the holiday spirit with the cheery topic of hate crimes. The 11th episode of the season will be titled, “Burning With Rage Forever.”

This episode will detail another ever-growing concern for people — the threats of meeting people online. The synopsis of this episode states, “A boy disappears after meeting up with an online gamer; Benson suspects her son is being bullied.”

Jason Biggs on Set of ‘Law & Order: SVU’

As for that January 6 episode, “Law & Order: SVU” is going to have a special guest dropping by.

According to Daily Mail, Jason Biggs was spotted on the set of the show alongside other stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, and Kelli Giddish. His character is wearing a black task force outfit. His appearance in the series got the official confirmation in early December.

He will be one of the task force members that is trying to stop a recent spree of hate crimes. He recently appeared in projects like “Dutmatched,” “The Subject,” and “Jason Biggs’ Cash at Your Door.”
