Since the latest addition to the Law & Order franchise, Law & Order: Organized Crime premiered last year, fans of the popular NBC series have learned that Tamara Taylor’s Angela Wheatley can be incredibly manipulative.
After all, she is the master-mind that set up the entire stage for Kathy Stabler’s murder…and then she became a close confidant to Kathy’s husband Elliot Stabler as he desperately tried to solve the mystery behind his wife’s shocking death.
We all know now that Angela Wheatley was certainly playing a role as the storyline progressed, manipulating events to get what she wants through much of the first season.
However, it seems, that Tamara Taylor’s Angela Wheatley has actually found a strong connection with Elliot Stabler after forming a bond early on.
During the most recent episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime, fans saw Tamara Taylor’s Angela Wheatley take the stand during Richard Wheatley’s murder trial.
During her time on the stand, the Law & Order: Organized Crime player opened up about her feelings for Chris Meloni’s Elliot Stabler.
However, this leaves fans of the series to wonder, how real are these feelings? Could these words all be part of another ploy?
According to the Angela Wheatley actress, these feelings are certainly not a part of a bigger ploy. They are absolutely genuine, Taylor explains.
An Unexpected Bond
“Stabler, I think, she’s disarmingly honest with,” Tamara Taylor explains in a recent interview with TV Line.
“He’s, unexpectedly, the one person she can let down her guard with,” the Law & Order: Organized Crime star adds.
“Because she certainly can’t grieve with Richard,” Tamara Taylor continues of her character’s husband, Dean McDermott’s Richard Wheatley.
“He’s a sociopath, a malignant narcissist,” says Talor, noting that things are very different with Stabler.
“So, there is no doing that over there,” the actress adds. “She can actually sort of be vulnerable with [Stabler].”

For Taylor, all of this means that her connection with Elliot Stabler is genuine, despite their checkered past.
“So what she feels about their connection is real,” the actress says. “You know?”
While Tamara Taylor says she has a definite connection with the former Law & Order: SVU detective, she certainly has no issues “playing” Richard as a part of her schemes.
“I think we established in the first season that it feels like she plays Richard,” says Taylor.
“She’s five steps ahead of Richard,” the Law & Order: Organized Crime actress adds.
“She’s smarter than him, she always has been,” Taylor says. “And she plays him like a chess piece.”
