Alison Arngrim, the actress that brought us Nellie Oleson on Little House on the Prairie is out enjoying her life and nature. While she doesn’t post often, her latest shows us she’s out living her best life.

Arngrim spent some time out at the Fullerton Arboretum and snapped a great pic of an egret with some turtle friends. The arboretum is on the campus of California State University, Fullerton. They are great places to catch great shots of nature and that’s what the Little House on the Prairie actress did.

Check out the photo below.

“Hanging out at the Fullerton [Arboretum]. #crane #heron #snowyegret #waterbirds,” the caption reads. In the photo, there is a great shot of the bird. It is white and the beak is so bright yellow. Truly a great shot that Outsiders will appreciate.

Of course, the actress has entertained multiple generations of viewers. Little House on the Prairie brought us one of the most classic shows ever. Even today, fans love to watch reruns whenever possible. When Arngrim starred as Nellie Olsen she was just 12 years old at first. Over the course of eight years and 104 episodes, she became the quintessential mean girl and fans love it!

It is so great to see Arngrim enjoying nature and having some time off. Although she isn’t a TV star anymore, the actress has a lot on her plate. She still does small shows on the side as well as working as an activist and philanthropist for causes close to her. The actress has always been open about her early life and the struggles she went through.

‘Little House on the Prairie’ Star Alison Arngrim Didn’t Have a ‘Smooth’ Life

In a recent interview, Arngrim was open about her early life and struggles. She was a victim of sexual abuse and getting her role as Nellie Olsen on Little House on the Prairie was a saving grace. Looking back, there is no way she would describe her life as “smooth” despite how things have turned out for her.

“‘Smooth’ is definitely not a word that would describe my life!” she exclaimed when asked about her past. “It’s really worked out great, but I was off to a rocky start from the beginning, I am a survivor of child sexual abuse, I was bullied at school, pathologically shy – you name it. Getting the role of Nellie at age 12 was quite the turning point.”

Despite playing such a bold and brash character on Little House on the Prairie she was not always that way in real life. As a kid, she was shy and didn’t have a lot of confidence. Thankfully, Arngrim was able to turn things around. Now, she just enjoys her life and doing what she wants to do. That means enjoying nature and taking great pictures to share with fans.
