On Sunday (November 21st) Lucie Arnaz, the daughter of the late actress Lucille Ball, took to her Instagram account to wish her husband, Laurence Luckinbill, a happy birthday.
“Happy 87 to the best husband ever! He never quits,” Lucille Ball’s daughter proclaimed in the post, which featured some snapshots of the couple through the years.
Arnaz goes on to share that her husband never quits and is full of love. “Compassion Central. Smarter than anyone you ever know. Happy Birthday Laurence George Luckinbill. I love you forever and then some.”
Lucie Arnaz, who is also an actor like her parents Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, married Luckinbill in 1980. The couple has three children, Simon, Joesph, and Katharine Luckinbill. Luckinbill notably has two sons from his previous marriage, who are Nicholas and Benjamin Luckinbill.
Lucie Arnaz Shares More Details About the Lucille Ball Podcast
During an August 2021 interview with Palms Spring Life, Lucie Arnaz spoke about Lucile Ball’s “new” podcast, which features interviews that the I Love Lucy star conducted while she was alive.
“I didn’t really even listen to all of them before they became the podcast on Sirius,” Lucille Ball’s daughter admitted. She also stated there were 250 episodes of Ball’s interviews. “There’s no way I had time to sit down and listen to them all. I just knew that they existed.”
Arnaz then shared she had a feeling that the Lucille Ball interviews were going to be pretty interesting because she saw the list of the people her mother interviewed. “I heard one interview with Barbra Streisand, and I thought, ‘This is kind of unique and amazing that these exist. I wonder what the rest of them are like.’”
When asked how Lucille Ball’s interviews ended up with Sirius, Arnaz revealed she made a couple of phone calls to the right people. “[I] found this wonderful team that knew a whole lot more than I did about streaming and podcasts. And who to take it to. They kind of guided me along this path. Before we knew it, it was just scooped up by Sirius and she had her own pop-up channel.”
Arnaz goes on to say she decided she would like to interview other people in today’s world who, if her mother was still alive, she might’ve asked some of those same questions too. “We’ve been doing interviews with lots of other people, and then we’re going to edit them and drop them into the old broadcast as certain subject matters come up.”
In regards to who are those who have participated in the interview, Arnaz added, “We talked to Bette Midler, Ron Howard, Rosie O’Donnell, Tiffany Haddish, Fran Drescher, Amy Poehler, Randy Rainbow, Carol Burnett, and Barry Manilow.”
