NBC, once again, aired the highly anticipated event of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade during Thursday’s holiday with host Al Roker. And after 2020’s revised festive event, Americans were beyond excited to return to the parade in person. As such, millions of Outsiders viewed the parade from the comfort of their homes.
Now, there’s no doubt we enjoyed the bright sights and performances that took place during Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday. However, host Al Roker received one special and memorable call which he shared with Americans. Navigating the streets of New York City, the iconic meteorologist received a call from none other than President Joe Biden.
According to popculture, Biden and our nation’s First Lady, Jill Biden, called Roker from Nantucket amid their own Thanksgiving celebrations. Initially, Al Roker experienced major surprise at the unexpected phone call. However, Al Roker made a quick recovery. He then encouraged the presidential couple to share a special holiday message with Americans as millions watched the event both in person and from home.
In response, Biden shared with the meteorologist, “after two years, you’re back. America’s back.” He continued with, “There’s nothing we’re unable to overcome, Al.”
Jill Biden shared a special message of her own with American families during Al Roker’s surprise phone call. She stated, “after being apart last year, we have a new appreciation for those little moments we can’t plan or replicate.”
In reference to the ongoing pandemic, the Bidens shared a final message. The couple stated, “As we celebrate, we will also be thinking of the many families feeling the pain of an empty chair at the Thanksgiving table. You are not alone, and our nation stands with you.”
Al Roker Shares Heartwarming Reaction to Parade Float
Always one of America’s most dedicated and frontline reporters, Al Roker caught a lot of attention during Thursday’s annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The iconic meteorologist’s phone call with the Bidens definitely caught national attention. However, it wasn’t the only special event that gained Roker vast recognition.
Parades, no matter the celebration, cause a stir of positive emotions from excitement and contentment to suspense. Al Roker is no different. As a result, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade viewers experienced nothing but joy in watching the reporter share his excitement at the arrival of the Baby Yoda parade balloon.
Footage captures the 67-year-old reporter as he exclaims, “Baby Yoda! I love you, Baby Yoda!” Surely Outsiders across the country felt the same way. However, to watch the famed meteorologist, who previously worried Americans during August’s devastating Hurricane Ida, express such excitement over a cartoon character is priceless.
We’re thankful for many things this holiday season. However, following yesterday’s event, Outsiders are especially thankful for the joyous appearance of Al Roker.
