‘Magnum PI’: Higgins Is in Trouble in Tense New Sneak Peek

by Megan Molseed

Showrunners behind CBS’s popular Magnum PI reboot recently released a preview of what fans can expect from the latest episode. And, according to the promo, it looks as if Magnum’s right-hand woman, Juliet Higgins (Perdita Weeks), may be facing some trouble.

In the brief eleven-second promo, we see Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez) driving in his iconic bright red convertible. However, the Magnum PI detective clearly isn’t out for a casual drive. In fact, the detective appears desperate as he tries to get ahold of Higgins. But, Higgins doesn’t seem to be answering Thomas Magnum’s calls.

“C’mon Higgins, pick up!” Magnum says desperately as he speeds off to an unknown destination in his car.

Then, we see Higgins as she runs from something, looking very upset.

“Come on! Let’s pick up the damn phone,” we can hear Magnum say just before the promo comes to a close.

Of course, this preview doesn’t provide fans with too much information about the upcoming episode. However, it definitely piques our interest.

Will ‘Magnum PI’s’ Higgins Find Herself In Some Hot Water?

According to the recently released synopsis of this latest episode which is titled Til Death, the Magnum PI duo is hired by a concerned groom. The soon-to-be newlywed wants the team to look into finding some information out about his bride, the night before the wedding.

The Magnum PI detectives agree to the case, approaching it like a slam-dunk. Going into the case, both Thomas Magnum and Juliet Higgins are certain that this is just a simple case of cold feet.

Soon, however, the case which was once assumed to be a simple one turns into the Magnum PI team digging into a series of lies and deceptions. Ultimately leading to Higgins facing a life or death situation.

Magnum P.I. is an exciting reboot of the iconic 1980s series which starred Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum.

In this newly reimagined series, Jay Hernandez portrays Magnum, a former Navy SEAL who is now making a living as a private detective.

In the 1980s series, Thomas Magnum’s partner-in-solving-crimes was Jonathan Quayle Higgins who was portrayed by John Hillerman.

However, in this Magnum PI reboot, Higgins is now a woman, Perdita Weeks’s Juliet Higgins.

As with most shows where you have two characters such as these, there is certainly some romantic chemistry between the Magnum PI investigators. But, they haven’t gone any further with this chemistry, and both date other people.

This reimagined version of Magnum PI premiered on CBS in 2018. The popular CBS series is now in its fourth season on the air.

When the series first premiered, CBS placed it on Monday nights with a 9 p.m. eastern running time.

However, the show moved to Friday nights as season two began. Interestingly, Magnum PI serves as the lead into CBS’s wildly popular series, Blue Bloods. This series stars the original Thomas Magnum, Tom Selleck.
