Mark Wahlberg wakes up at 2:30 a.m. He prays and eats his first breakfast. By 4:00, he’s already hard at work in the gym. It’s his first workout of the day and takes roughly an hour and a half. The rest of his day is a blur filled with eating, working, family time, and more working out. Are you exhausted yet? No? Well, maybe the Instagram sneak peek Wahlberg gave fans of his workout will do the trick.
We know what you’re thinking. No one wakes up at 2:30 a.m. That’s ridiculous. And in any other case, you may very well be correct. But you’ve never met Mark Wahlberg. His morning schedule is not an exaggeration. At least, it isn’t if his Instagram story from 2018 is to be believed.
The man is an absolute freak when it comes to the gym. Earlier today, he posted a short video to Instagram of him finishing up his hamstring curls. And thanks to some new merch from his casual athletic wear company, he quite literally left his mark on the bench.
The brand is called MUNICIPAL. According to The Manual, Wahlberg launched the clothing company with friends Stephen Levinson and Harry Arnett in July 2020. In the video, he can be seen proudly displaying a new shirt. The branding across the front left an imprint on the bench, spelling out the company’s name with the absence of sweat.
“New colorways,” Wahlberg says, sweaty and breathing hard. “The stamp of approval. Self-made, baby.”
Mark Wahlberg is the picture of dedication. The A-List movie star went from criminal adolescence to one of the most recognizable faces on the planet. One thing that has been consistent throughout is his passion for exercise.
Mark Wahlberg is a Movie Star, But He Still Has to Be a Dad
As you can probably imagine, raising a family while being an in-demand movie star is not easy territory to navigate. Mark Wahlberg has had years to figure this out and has made certain sacrifices for the sake of his kids.
For example, when’s he’s not too busy in the gym, Poppa Wahlberg would love to go to watch one of his kids’ sporting events. Unfortunately, he’s a bit of a distraction in public. He’s Mark Wahlberg, after all. Long story short, his kids don’t love all the extra attention when they’re just trying to focus on their game. As a result, he’s relegated to watching from the car.
“At first I took it personally because I wanna be there to support them. But supporting them is by making them feel comfortable in what they’re doing and them having their own identity too. It’s very difficult,” Wahlberg told Entertainment Tonight in July.
