Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones Celebrate Their Shared Birthday with Posts for Each Other

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones share one of the longest marriages in Hollywood. The two, who have two children together, got hitched almost 21 years ago. And they’ve been relationship goals ever since. And just when you thought they couldn’t get any cuter—they do. Douglas and Zeta-Jones have the same birthday. What are the odds, right?

Today, the love birds hopped on social media to post sweet birthday messages to each other. Michael Douglas was the first. He chose to commemorate the day he met his would-be wife. And he posted a throwback picture of the event that led to his happy ever after.

“My first night meeting Catherine at the Deauville Film Festival in 1998. I found out that she had the same birthday as me–tadaah!” he wrote. “Then when I discovered she loved golf, I realized all my fantasies had come true. I’ve lucked out at this time in my life. I just lucked out. I’m so impressed by her intelligence, sense of humor and work ethic. Happy Birthday Catherine- I love you so much! ❤️ @catherinezetajones”

Then Zeta-Jones responded with a more recent photo where Douglas is swooning over her at a black-tie event.

“Happy Birthday to me.Happy Birthday to him, Happy Birthday to my husband and his wife, Happy Birthday to me, and me, and me, and Michael,” she captioned. “Here’s to more years that we can celebrate September 25th together. Love you.”

77-Year-Old Michael Douglas Said It Was ‘A Little Rough’ After Being Mistaken For His Daughter’s Grandpa

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are proof that age doesn’t matter. Douglas is 25 years older than his a-list wife, and the two have shared a remarkable marriage for nearly 21 years. However, the age gap does have a downside for Douglas because he’s occasionally mistaken for his kids’ grandpa. And that happened last May when his daughter, Carys, graduated from high school.

Douglas was in his 50s when he settled down with his Oscar-winning wife. And the couple decided to have children right away. Their oldest child, Dylan, was born three months before the two tied the knot. And then, a couple of years later, in 2003, they welcomed their daughter Carys.

When Michael Douglas was a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show last June, he spoke about people confusing him for a grandpa on Carys’s big day.

“I gotta tell you Kelly,” Douglas said. “It’s a little rough when you’re going out the doors and the other parents are saying, ‘Oh congratulations…you must be so proud of your granddaughter.”
