There is nothing better in life than a little bit of mother-daughter time. Just ask former NCIS star, Emily Wickersham.

Fans of the CBS hit show NCIS grew to love Emily Wickersham over the past eight years. She played the character of NSA Analyst Elanor “Ellie” Bishop on the show. She was originally cast in a three-episode arc back in 2013. Shortly after that, she was promoted to a series regular. For those at home who don’t know, NCIS focuses on a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Unfortunately for us all, however, we found out back in June that Wickersham would not be returning for the new season of NCIS. She was without a doubt one of the most tenured actresses on the show at the time of her departure.

So, what has Wickersham been doing in the meantime? Well, it’s safe to say that she has stayed busy. Not only has she spent all summer living it up with friends and family, but she also announced that she was pregnant. On Friday afternoon, the NCIS alum shared a photo while out and about with her mother.

“Hey ma,” Wickersham captioned the photo.

Emily Wickersham Announces Says Goodbye to ‘NCIS’ Fans

Fans of NCIS have had more than a few months now to soak in the news that Emily Wickersham will no longer be part of the show. In announcing her departure back in June, the actress said that she was thankful for her cast and crew and everyone that she worked with.

“Hanging this hat and jacket up. What a great ride it has been,” Wickersham wrote at the time. “This cast, this crew are top-notch. I can’t say enough kind words about this group that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for close to 8 years now and 172 episodes later. This business is finicky and weird and consistency is a rarity.”

Based on her words alone, it seems like Wickersham really cherished her time on the set of NCIS.

“I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of a show where I got to show up and act and laugh and learn with wonderful people,” she said. “A moment in time I surely won’t forget.”

In the next chapter of Emily Wickersham’s life, she is going to become a mom for the very first time. The 37-year-old announced in July that she is expecting a baby boy with her partner, James Badge Dale. Like his high-profile girlfriend, Dale is an actor as well. He has starred in things like 24, The Pacific, The Departed, Iron Man 3, and 13 Hours.
