Why so serious, Emily Wickersham? Is your real life imitating your former NCIS self?

Wickersham, who left NCIS back in May, loves to share photos of herself with her 347,000 Instagram followers. In the one she posted Friday, Wickersham looks pensive. She captioned it: “Sooo serious, lighten uppp.”

Weeks After Leaving NCIS Wickersham Revealed She Was Pregnant

Wickersham is counting the days before the birth of her first baby. It’s a boy due sometime in the next few weeks. The NCIS alum has never revealed her due date. But her partner, James Badge Dale, said Wickersham started her third trimester in September.

Pregnancy certainly suits Wickersham. Earlier in the week, she posted a portrait of herself. She’s wearing a two-piece swimsuit. And she’s standing in profile, so you can see her very compact baby bump. The portrait was inspired by a photo Wickersham used to announce her pregnancy back in July. Even with the additional baby weight, she looked as fit as any athlete. In most of her photos, Wickersham is wearing a bulky sweater. Not this time.

Show Added Two New Permanent Cast Members

While Wickersham took a break from acting when she left NCIS, Dale is filming Hightown on Starz. The show is produced in Provincetown, Mass. and Montauk, N.Y. Provincetown is located on the tip of Cade Cod. Given the beachy photos Wickersham is posting, it appears that’s where she is, too. This summer, the couple sold their home in Los Angeles for almost $4 million.

Wickersham’s final NCIS episode was the season 18 finale in late May. She portrayed Ellie Bishop for eight years and 172 episodes. NCIS fans still would love for her to return to the show. Since her departure, the series switched to Mondays while adding two main cast members for season 19 — Gary Cole (Alden Parker) and Katrina Law (Jess Knight).

In the season 18 finale, Bishop broke the heart of Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), who also happened to be her partner. She’d been secretly training with Odette for a deep undercover CIA assignment. The finale showed her trashing her public NCIS career so she’d be more believable as a disgruntled former agent. And the last thing she needed was a lingering, long-distance relationship with Torres. That’s why she broke it off, but not before the two shared a kiss. In the season 19 premiere, Torres went back to Bishop’s apartment, searching for answers.

NCIS returns with a new episode, Nov. 29. It’s called Peacekeeper. Here’s the summary from CBS: “NCIS investigates the case of a Navy reservist whose body is found in a beat-up car at the end of a gun range. Also, Kasie weighs the pros and cons of buying a gun.”
