“I live my life in widening circles that reach out across the world.” Former NCIS star Maria Bello‘s Aspen, Colorado getaway is what Outsider dreams are made of.

Wondering what Maria Bello’s been up to since her exit from NCIS? By the looks of it, the beloved actress is living her best life in Aspen, Colorado with artist and photographer friend Amanda Demme.

With a pitch-perfect quote by Rainer Maria Rilke, Bello shares several shots as a video montage Sunday, both of which you’ll find below, fellow Outsiders:

“I live my life in widening circles that reach out across the world – I may not complete this last one but I give myself to it. I circle around God, around the primordial tower. I’ve been circling for thousands of years and I still don’t know: am I a falcon, a storm or a great song? That Instagram made me remove.”

According to her post, photographer Amanda Demme took the sun-soaked shots for the NCIS star. Demme posted her own take on the lake vista Sunday, too. Her’s, however, is photo-turned-artwork as she “fades ijnto nature”:

Why did Maria Bello Exit ‘NCIS’?

Yet the question remains on the minds of many a’ NCIS fan: Why did Maria Bello exit the long-running fan-favorite show? From 2017 to 2021, Her Jack Sloane was a staple of the mega-hit. Yet it all boils down to Bello simply not renewing her contract.

According to RepublicWorld.com, Maria Bello chose not to renew her three-year contract with CBS. As a result, she would not return for the series’ renewal. She did, however, agree to star in the first 7 episodes of Season 18 to give her character proper closure. Then, come Episode 7, “The First Day,” Bello would make her exit as Sloane.

“I’ve learned many things on this journey for the last three and a half years. I learned about commitment and community. I’ve learned that the woman I am enjoys process over product. I’ve never worked with a kinder, more generous group of people,” the NCIS star posted of her exit earlier this year.

“I only had the privilege of standing by Dom’s side during cancer because my producers worked so hard to make sure I was there for every treatment,” she continues.

“Dom” refers to Bello’s fiancée Dominique Crenn, who was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after they fell in love. Her post may reveal to fans why she chose not to renew her contract for NCIS. Bello has never stated this outright, however, so we don’t want to assume.

In the end, she wants NCIS fans to “Keep watching.”

“I have a feeling there will be many more years to come. Thank you to all of my pals at NCIS and to all of our fans. I am truly grateful.”
