Alright, folks. We here at Outsider have got a task for you. Can you find a better combination than NCIS and the holidays?

Since its original debut back in 2003, CBS’s NCIS has, without a doubt, been one of the best shows on all of television. The popular series, of course, revolves around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). Not only has it seen some of the best ratings in all of TV, but it also ranks among the longest-running and most successful in all of history.

Now, you may be wondering what has made the show so successful and for so long. And while there are a lot of different answers to that question, one of the main reasons is the amazing characters. The show has featured some of the best actors and actresses in the business, which paved the way for some of television’s most iconic characters.

You have names like Mark Harmon as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Michael Weatherly as NCIS Senior Field Agent Anthony DiNozzo, Pauley Perrette as NCIS Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto, David McCallum as Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard, Sean Murray as NCIS Senior Field Agent Timothy McGee, Brian Dietzen as Dr. Jimmy Palmer, Emily Wickersham as NCIS Special Agent Eleanor Bishop, and Wilmer Valderrama as NCIS Special Agent Nicholas Torres. Talk about an impressive cast.

But with such a long run comes the departure of several characters. And that’s exactly what has happened with NCIS. But luckily for fans, the official Instagram account for the show posted a series of holiday-themed photos with the caption, “‘Tis the season for some #NCIS nostalgia.” And they made sure to tug on all of our heartstrings with photos of some of the show’s past characters.

‘NCIS’ Fans Miss All of the Show’s Former Characters

There’s no question that the cast and crew of the NCIS now are a lot different than what it has been over the years. So many of the show’s lead characters are no longer there — Mark Harmon, Pauley Perrette, Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, and more. As a result, fans of the show were soaking up all of the nostalgia in NCIS’s latest social media post.

“So nice to see Tony and Abby again,” one fan said. “I miss them. I miss Gibbs, DiNozzo, and Ziva too.”

“Oh my god, my heart, come on man whyyy,” another fan pleaded.

“MY FAVOURITESSS <3 I MISS THEM ALLLLL,” commented a third follower.

“Is this a hint that someone is coming back???” a fourth person asked.
