Even though Michael Weatherly hasn’t been one of the main leads on “NCIS” for years, that doesn’t mean the show’s fans don’t still care deeply about him. On Wednesday, the 53-year-old actor took to social media to share a special message of gratitude, and his fans were absolutely eating it up.
The “Bull” star posted the clip with the caption: “Have a great Thanksgiving… or celebration of gratitude wherever you are. It’s a beautiful world and we can never take it for granted.”
The video shows Weatherly seated in the car rocking his “Bull” character’s signature spectacles. He addresses the camera saying, “I wanted to say from the set of ‘Bull,’ happy Thanksgiving. And, well, if you’re not in the United States, and you’re wondering what I’m talking about. Just uh…we’re grateful. Have gratitude for this gift we call life. Yeah, like that.”
The message of gratitude was met with a number of moving replies. Some fans from overseas even reached out to Weatherly.
One fan from across the pond shot Weatherly a response saying, “Happy Thanksgiving from the UK, there is so much beauty in the world when you take time to appreciate it.”
Another fan writes, “Happy thanksgiving for your family and you. And also for your entire Bull team. Have a good time and stay healthy and safe. Nice greetings from Germany.”
Michael Weatherly’s High Praise for ‘NCIS’ Costar
As “NCIS” fans are well aware, Weatherly spent 13 seasons on the CBS procedural. He portrayed the funny, lovable Tony DiNozzo alongside Mark Harmon, Sean Murray, and others. And most notably, he shared a seemingly endless number of unforgettable moments with costar Pauley Perrette, who played Abby Sciuto.
In fact, the respect between the two went further than just on-screen. During a 2015 interview with AssignmentX, Weatherly opened up about the deep level of admiration he has for Perrette. According to Weatherly, Perrette is in a class of her own.
“She’s just kind of moving through space and time that the rest of us [do not]. I’m amazing at her energy,” he said.
While the show featured a handful of beloved characters, Weatherly felt that Perrette managed to take the cake as being the “most engaged.” And part of that is because Perrette is as authentic as it gets.
“She is the next thought she’s having. So there’s no calculated bulls*** with Pauley. Some people would call it crazy. I would say it’s the most engaged a person on our show, without question,” Weatherly said. “I think Pauley is an extraordinary lady. That’s not to say that Mark doesn’t do his charities, and David McCallum [who plays coroner Ducky] is extraordinarily involved with a lot of different military things. But I think Pauley really rises head and shoulders above everyone in the amount of work that she does across the board, whether it’s animal rights or women’s rights or whatever, she’s a real signal to everybody.”
