‘NCIS: Hawai’i’: Captain Milius Fits Right In During Clip From Monday’s Episode

by Leanne Stahulak

“NCIS: Hawai’i” is well underway, solving case after case on the gorgeous islands. And introducing us to a whole new cast of characters to fall in love with, including Enver Gjokaj’s Captain Joe Milius.

We got to understand how Milius operates a little bit better during this past Monday’s episode. Titled “Gaijin,” the episode followed a murdered Japanese sailor, whose death may be linked to his girlfriend’s death back in Japan.

Milius promises to help Special Agent-in-Charge Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) with the case. He uses his military connections to get some answers for the NCIS team and asks thoughtful questions about the case. We get a glimpse of that in a clip from the episode shared on the official “NCIS: Hawai’i” Twitter page.

“Captain Milius fits right in with the team, wouldn’t you agree?” the caption of the post reads.

You can tell right away that Milius is not, exactly, a perfect fit for the team. But Tennant reassures them that he’s meant to be “helping” (and her tone implies that those quotation marks are 100% in place when she says it).

But one of the funniest moments in the clip comes a little later when Tennant asks Milius to look into something for her. Rather than wait for the debriefing to finish up, Milius immediately hops on a computer and gets after it. The rest of the team watches silently as he works, and Tennant shakes her head when they give her questioning glances.

Although Milius might be new to this NCIS team, he certainly won’t be useless. We’ll give him some time to see if he really settles in with the team this season. But we’ll have to wait another week to even see Lachey, Gjokaj, and the others in action again.

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Takes Small Hiatus Next Week

Next week, on Monday, Oct. 25, a new episode of “NCIS: Hawai’i” will NOT premiere on CBS. Instead, fans will have to wait until Nov. 1, according to a press release from the network.

The press release doesn’t say anything about why Episode 6 won’t drop until November, but TV bloggers Matt & Jess Carter theorize that because the flagship “NCIS” got paused, the spin-off got pushed back too. The original show could’ve been pushed back to make sure they don’t fall behind on filming. It could also be so that certain episodes fall during certain November sweeps rating periods.

In the meantime, fans can watch reruns of both “NCIS” shows next week during their regular timeslots. “Hawai’i” will rerun the second episode of the season, while the flagship will run Season 18 Episode 6 from earlier this year. Come Nov. 1, we’ll see our favorites back in action once again.
