Bad news, “NCIS: Hawai’i” fans. The CBS show won’t return from its mid-season hiatus for another two weeks.
Season 1 of the new spin-off show will resume on Monday, Nov. 29 at 10 p.m. EST. The last episode we saw aired on Monday, Nov. 8, leaving a three-week gap between episodes. CBS didn’t provide an explanation for the quick pause during the season, but Cinema Blend reports that the show returns in two weeks.
In the meantime, “NCIS: Hawai'” fans can speculate over the synopsis for the newest episode, titled “Legacy.” It reads, “When an anti-capitalist protestor is murdered, Jane and the team investigate and find themselves caught in a war between eco-activists and a tech billionaire fighting over a piece of land. Also, Jane and Captain Joe (Enver Gjokaj) go on a date.”
Can we appreciate how nonchalantly CBS included that last sentence about Jane and Joe going out? Regardless, it’s been a long time coming in the series. The two have worked closely together on multiple cases, though we didn’t see Joe in the last episode. We know that Jane balances life as Special-Agent-in-Charge and single mom, but it’s nice to see her take some time for herself too.
The other part of the synopsis promises an interesting conflict for the team. With a member of one side of the conflict dead, it puts the “NCIS: Hawai’i” team in a precarious situation. So far, CBS hasn’t released any teasers for the new episode, so we’ll have to wait and see how it affects them.
Looking to get your “NCIS: Hawai’i” fix while it’s still on hiatus? Check out CBS during the show’s normal runtime next week to watch a rerun from earlier this season. The network will play Episode 4, titled “Paniolo.”
Here’s How ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Fans Feels about the Ongoing Hiatus
After the latest episode of “NCIS: Hawai’i” aired on Nov. 8, the show’s official Twitter page posted an announcement about the current hiatus.
“We’re off for a few weeks but don’t worry. #NCISHawaii will be back with a new episode on 11/29,” the show posted, along with a gif of Vanessa Lachey’s character Jane saying, “This will be okay.”
“Gonna watch all the episodes again and again to cope,” another fan tweeted.
“Will be in Lucy and Kate withdrawal,” someone else wrote. Honestly, same.
And this one fan summed up what we’re all thinking: “Whyyyyyyy???????” Hopefully, the short answer is that the show is catching up on filming more phenomenal episodes for us to enjoy. But we’ll have to wait until Monday, Nov. 29 to see.
