Vanessa Lachey didn’t shy away from getting involved in the action as “NCIS: Hawai’i” made its debut Monday night on CBS.

We’ll talk more about that while looking back at some of those moments. An article from TV Insider offered some information about the series premiere, which aired on the heels of the franchise show “NCIS” opening up Season 19 on CBS.

Lachey plays Special Agent In Charge Jane Tennant on the spin-off series. She’s busy coaching her daughter’s soccer team but has to leave. Tennant has to go investigate a crash of a manned, top-secret aircraft. Tennant ends up bumps heads with Navy Capt. Joe Milius, who is played by Enver Gjokaj.

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Team Runs Into Ring Seeking Classified Information On Navy Project

That event would lead the “NCIS: Hawai’i” team to uncover a ring after classified information on the project using cocktail waitresses to lure in the pilots. The latest victim was poisoned.

When they encounter the ring leader, Tennant jumps off a cliff, followed by Kai Holman, played by Alex Tarrant. They managed to take down the leader and received some sweet assistance from a massive wave.

We get a pretty good look at how the “NCIS: Hawai’i” team is put together.

Yasmine Al-Bustami plays Lucy Tara, the team’s junior member. Kai is a local who has returned to Hawai’i as an NCIS agent after spending his life running away from home. Jesse Boone, played by Noah Mills, is a former big-city homicide detective who’s settling into living in Hawai’i.

Premiere Episode Closes With Team Members Gathered At Tennant Home With Her, Kids

During the episode, we see Jesse as the second-in-command. Lucy is in her head about getting on Tennant’s bad side. Ernie Malik, played by Jason Antoon, is the tech guru who has some quirkiness. Kai is the newbie who’s a bit resistant to entirely fitting in.

Tennant, a single mother, is shown at the end of this premiere with her kids while everyone shows up at her home.

One other scene has Kate Whistler, played by Tori Anderson, embracing Tara. They were a couple at one time, but not anymore.

Viewers of “NCIS: Hawai’i” were commenting on social media about Tennant’s take-no-prisoners attitude.

A special treat for some viewers using the #NCISHawaii hashtag on Twitter was Lachey. She watched the show along with fans and offered replies to some tweets.

When the show ended, Lachey sent this tweet out to her fans.

In conclusion, fans offered mostly positive responses online after the show ended on Monday night. “NCIS: Hawai’i” returns next Monday night at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central.
