NCIS: Hawai’i star Tori Anderson recently opened up about what it’s like working alongside Vanessa Lachey. Anderson plays Kate Whistler on the hit series. Vanessa Lachey, who was previously known for her work mostly on comedies and working as a reality TV host, surprised fans with her performance.

And apparently, she’s impressed her fellow cast mates even more. Anderson is “blown away” with how Lachey can be a mother of three kids, an author, and a TV star while still being an awesome person.

“She is probably the most generous, professional, kind Number One I’ve ever worked with in my life. Working with her has been the highlight of my career. I’m constantly learning that you can come to work and be professional and kind — she leads with kindness and grace,” Anderson said in an interview with Looper.

But on top of that kindness, Lachey has apparently brought a ton of good humor and fun behind the scenes. Which on a show like NCIS: Hawai’i which can deal with some grizzly subjects, it’s a huge bonus.

“When you come on a show like this, the lead sets the tone of the show. And she’s just done such a remarkable job. I cannot speak more highly of anyone,” she said.

Anderson Said There’s ‘No Ego’ In the ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Cast

Another huge perk to working with Lachey is the fact that it makes everyone on set have a good time. For anderson, that means that the best scenes to shoot are the ones where they’re all together. Even if they’re a bit harder to get through.

“She just makes it a really fun experience,” Anderson said. I love the scenes where we’re all together because there’s no ego on this cast at all. So, when we all get in a room together, sometimes it’s hard to focus on the work because we all have so much fun together.”

When you have that kind of community on set, it’s easy to focus more on the work and trust each other in scenes. NCIS: Hawai’i may have just started, but the cast already seems very tight-knit. And if Tori Anderson is right, some of that is thanks to Vanessa Lachey.

Lachey has brought a lot to the Jane Tennant role. Jane Tennant is also a mother, and she’s recently struggled with balancing her work and parenthood. In a recent episode, she got in a serious conflict with her son, Alex. She failed to help out a friend of his in the way he would have hoped.

If you want to catch the next episode of NCIS: Hawai’i, it airs on Monday nights at 10/9 Central.
