Vanessa Lachey’s starring role as Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant on “NCIS: Hawai’i” certainly keeps her busy on the white, sandy beaches of Hawaii.

Her entire family, including husband Nick Lachey and their three kids, all moved to Hawaii while she works on the first series of the show. Although it has been an adjustment, Lachey is adamant that her family loves being in Hawaii.

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star New Book

Her book is called “Life From Scratch: Family Traditions That Start with You.”

Lachey shared a picture of herself holding up the book. The photo was captioned, “It’s officially NOVEMBER, my favorite month!!! It’s mine & Nick’s Birthday on the 9th & Thanksgiving week started our VERY 1st tradition as a couple 15 years ago! TODAY is #NationalAuthorsDay! Which is perfect since my book about ‘Family & Traditions’ comes out Nov 30th … I am so excited for you all to get it and I am still in awe to call myself an author, it’s never too late to do what you love!”

Vanessa Lachey has certainly kept busy. Her role on “NCIS: Hawai’i” makes her quite the trailblazer. She is, in fact, the first woman in charge of a team on the franchise. Her followers were quick to express excitement and awe over this new project. Fellow actor Leslie Jordan wrote, “Girl, you never stop! Books and TV series and cooking shows and those adorable kids and THAT HUSBAND OF YOURS!!”

More Details on Upcoming Release

In an interview with People, the “NCIS: Hawai’i” star opened up about what exactly her book is about. It is a collection of season-by-season recipes, birthday traditions, and date nights ideas, amongst other things.

It’s meant to inspire people to start their own family traditions.

“The book is broken up into the seasons, and in every season there’s moments that you can create and make your own … It’s what we’ve done in the Lachey household, but I just hope it inspires people to create their own memories and traditions with their family or chosen family,” she said.

Lachey said it’s a great way to “give your children something that they can latch onto” and create passed-down recipes, traditions, and memories. The cover image of the book features Lachey on a swing in her backyard. She said it’s her favorite spot in her home. She was watching Nick Lachey and their kids run and play outside. After seeing the picture, she thought this more candid snapshot would be ideal for the book.
