‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star Vaness Lachey Celebrates LeVar Burton as Director

by Jacklyn Krol

NCIS: Hawai’i star Vanessa Lachey couldn’t help but sing LeVar Burton’s praises.

On Sunday, November 7, Lachey shared a video of her and the director on her Instagram account. Burton directed episode twelve of NCIS: Hawai’i that will air later this season. Various directors have been coming in and filming episodes for the newest series in the NCIS franchise.

Fans will recognize Burton’s work from NCIS: New Orleans, Charmed, Star Trek: Enterprise, among others. He is also an established actor who has been featured in Weird City, Transformers: Rescue Bots, Perception, and The Big Bang Theory.

“Living Legend @levar.burton!!! We just wrapped episode 12 that he directed! What an honor & a pleasure sharing this experience with him! Brow game strong! Shirt game strong! Life game strong! Don’t forget to check out @ncishawaiicbs Mondays at 10/9c on CBS,” she captioned the epic clip.

Next week’s episode is sure to be a doozy. The episode is entitled “Rescuers” and it tells the story of a Coast Guard rescue swimmer who is either a victim or a suspect. Tracy Moore is the girlfriend of a petty officer who has been murdered. Surveillance video shows her acting pretty suspicious, but was it actually her committing the crime?

The quick teaser to preview the upcoming episode shows Jane Tennant (Lachey) telling her NCIS: Hawai’i crew that the officer’s body was dumped and was murdered. Fans then hear how she was “definitely hiding something.” But was it just something embarrassing? The team investigated and discovered pink teddy bears covering the entire front room of her home. Do you think she’s the perp or just a victim looking suspicious?

The Big Move to ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’

Vanessa Lachey and her family had to move to Hawai’i to film NCIS: Hawai’i. She and her husband Nick Lachey share three children together: sons Camden, 8, Phoenix, 4, and daughter Brooklyn, 6. Nick had quite the positive reaction when she asked him about what he thought of moving to the island.

“It was a talk that I had with my husband and I said, ‘What do you think?’ and…he’s like, ‘Hawaii, umm, it could be worse.’ And he was like, ‘This is awesome!’” she told  Entertainment Tonight. “And I’ll never forget him saying, ‘This is your time and you’ve been there in the past for me.’”

The kids fit right in and became “island babies.” Vanessa has been detailing their lives in Hawaii on her Instagram page. The kids recently had their first days at their new school. Vanessa shared photos of the three with their school uniforms and Hawai’ian floral leis. Vanessa concluded, “kids are more resilient than adults.”
