Vanessa Lachey, the star of NCIS: Hawai’i, gets to momentarily stop her Christmas celebration for an important family-specific party.
Youngest child Phoenix was born on Christmas Eve five years ago. And Lachey commemorated Phoenix’s birthday with an automobile theme. Check that, let’s make it more specific. It was a Cars theme. Phoenix waved to the camera against a backdrop of a personalized street sign with name and age. There were lots of hub caps and a miniature the #95 car. Ka-chow, you know what that’s about, Lightning McQueen.
The NCIS: Hawai’i star captioned the snap “Happy Birthday My Love.”
NCIS: Hawai’i Star and Husband Have Three Kids
Lachey and her husband, Nick, are the parents of three children. The oldest two are Camden and Brooklyn. Five Christmas seasons ago, Lachey wasn’t expected to deliver her youngest baby so soon. Yet, Lachey suffered an umbilical cord prolapse and she gave birth to Phoenix, who was 10 weeks premature. Because he was born with underdeveloped lungs, he was at higher risk for RSV (respiratory syncytial virus). Phoenix later contracted the virus and was hospitalized for nearly a week.
After her son’s illness, the star of NCIS: Hawai’i said she felt “shocked and terrified.” But as you can see from Lachey’s photo, Phoenix looks like the picture of health and cuteness. Nick Lachey described it in much the same way, saying he “never felt so hopeless.” In 2018, Vanessa became a spokesman for RSV Awareness.
The NCIS: Hawai’i star also has another celebration a bit after the holidays end. Daughter Brooklyn turns seven, Jan. 6. We’ll have to check out Lachey’s Instagram to see how she celebrates her only daughter’s birthday. We’re betting she goes all out.
Show Also Explores Jane’s Life as Single Mom
On NCIS: Hawai’i, Lachey portrays Jane Tennant. She’s the special agent in charge. And being a single mom of two is definitely part of the weekly plot lines. In the last new episode before the show’s holiday hiatus, both of Tennant’s children made appearances as the show commemorated the 80th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
Tennant’s son also had a significant chunk in the plot in Legacy, which aired Nov. 29. Like we said, NCIS: Hawai’i is incorporating Tennant’s personal life as part of the plot. She is the series first-ever female special agent in charge. So her life is more than solving cases. In Legacy, Tennant went out on a date, who stayed overnight. Jane wasn’t expecting her son to show up.
NCIS: Hawai’i returns with a new episode, Jan. 3. Here’s the plotline from CBS: “NCIS crosses paths with Whistler’s team while investigating a shipping container filled with contraband weapons. Also, Tennant debates arresting Alex’s friend’s dad, knowing it will cause her friend to move away.”
