If you’ve been watching CBS’s NCIS: Hawai’i, you probably know that Vanessa Lachey’s Jane Tennant is tougher than she looks. And in real life, she has just as much grit. And she proved that today when she went into full mamma bear mode on social media.
On the set of NCIS: Hawai’i, Vanessa Lachey is Special Agent Tennant, who is in charge of NCIS Pearl. And she happens to be the franchise’s first female lead. On the job, Tennant is making a name for herself as a badass crime fighter. But her complex character is also an amazing mother. And that’s one of the reasons Lachey loves playing the character.
“She’s a great mom too,” she said during a CBS interview. “She always, always, has her kids in the front of her mind even when she’s at work. She’s leading 44 special agents, but she’s always thinking about her kids and always puts them first. She has a love of country, and she honors her country.”
We’re guessing Lachey respects Tennant from NCIS: Hawai’i so much because they both value motherhood above all else. And the actress proved how much she loves her children when she posted a National Son’s Day pic on Instagram. We pity the first girls who break her boys’ hearts.
“I mean… Happy #NationalSonsDay!!!” she commented. “Their future dates are in trouble! You gotta go thru Mama! I should caption this “Sugar & Spice”! Guess who’s who!”
In the photo, the starlet’s two adorable sons are looking just like their mom with their brown eyes, brown hair, and big smiles. And we know who’s who! The little guy on the left is five-year-old Pheonix. And his older brother on the right is nine-year-old Camden.
Vanessa Lachey Packed Up Her Family And Moved To Paradise After Being Cast in NCIS: Hawai’i
When Vanessa Lachey got the call saying she won the lead role in NCIS: Hawai’i, she was living in California with her husband Nick Lachey and their three young children. Her new filming schedule would be hectic and take her away from her family for months at a time. And like most mothers, Vanessa didn’t want to miss out on her kids’ childhood. So, she asked Nick if he’d be willing to pack up the family and move to the islands.
“It was a talk that I had with my husband, and I said, ‘What do you think?’” she told Entertainment Tonight. “And…he’s like, ‘Hawaii, umm, it could be worse.’ And he was like, ‘This is awesome!’”
The decision to move to paradise for NCIS: Hawai’i wasn’t hard. Nick was all-in. And since he’s in show business himself, he understands how the lifestyle can take a toll on a person. He found his success with Vanessa by his side. And as he told her, “this is your time, and you’ve been there in the past for me.”
