It’s a sad time for “NCIS: Hawai’i'” star Vanessa Lachey. On Saturday night, she announced to her fans that her beloved pup passed away.

She posted the pic with the caption: “My Beautiful Wookie. You made me a Mama and us a family. You taught me more than you will ever know. The last 15 years have been the best years of my life, a HUGE part of that is because of you. Everyone Loved you, Mr Wookerson. Now all the doggies in Heaven get to have you. We Love You & will miss you.”

After sharing the heartbreaking update, Vanessa Lachey’s post was met with tons of support. Notably, her “NCIS: Hawai’i’ costar Jason Antoon sent his “love” in a comment. “Oh noooo! So sorry to hear about Wookie. 😢Sending love,” he wrote.

Actor Will Yun Lee, known for “Altered Carbon” and “The Good Doctor,” also sent Lachey a kind message. “Broken hearted. Loved that little boy since he was a puppy and now him and Rusty are chasing that squeaky ball like greyhounds in the clouds while Teddy waits to sit on their ball,” Lee writes.

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’: Vanessa Lachey Calls Starring on Show Is ‘Immense Opportunity’

In happier news for Vanessa Lachey, her new show “NCIS: Hawai’i” debuted earlier this fall. As she documented on social media, Lachey was overcome with joy when she first learned about landing the role of Jane Tennant.

Last week, Lachey opened up during an interview with People about how she cherishes the “opportunity” to take on such a strong character. She especially loves the chance to play a woman in a position of power.

“What I love about this role and this opportunity is that it’s finally shining a light on what’s been going on all along. And that’s that women are in high positions. Multicultural women are in high positions,” she said.

Lachey notes that it gives her the chance to show the commonality that her character shares with the rest of the world, and also a little extra.

“It’s amazing that finally they are putting that on mainstream television and people get to watch it and see that we are just like everyone else. We can put our shoes on the same way and our pants on the same way. And if I can say, we kick some ass the same way.”

Putting it plainly, the role means the absolute world to Lachey.

“For me to actually be the one chosen for the is beyond a dream come true. That’s an understatement. It’s such an immense opportunity.”
