‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star Vanessa Lachey Remembers to ‘Breathe’ in New Photo

by Kati Michelle

Vanessa Lachey is a lot of things. She’s an actress, a wife, a mom of three. She recently added author to that list as well. But even Jane Tennant needs a little breather every now and then between all the “Mission Impossible” action. So, that’s exactly what the “NCIS: Hawai’i” star promoted in her latest Instagram post.

We see her stunning fans from a purple couch underneath a glowing neon sign that simply reads “breathe.” She’s all smiles rocking some black knee-high boots and what appears to be a mini dress against a seriously funky wallpaper.

The caption tells us the “NCIS: Hawai’i” star is still soaking up all the excitement of being a newly published author, celebrating the release of her “Life From Scratch: Family Traditions That Start With You” book. The work is an emotional one and focuses on how Vanessa Lachey built her own family after coming from a broken one herself.

She talks about the absence of her own mother growing up saying:

“I struggle with my mom leaving because I look at these kids and [our son] Camden is the age when my mom left. And there’s not a bone, an ounce, in my body that could ever just walk away from [them].”

The book tries to forge a new path. Vanessa Lachey says:

“You can break that cycle and be the one that starts it all. It’ll be your name that they talk about when they eat that recipe or when they do that fun dance night … there’s something really exciting and beautiful that you can create for generations to come.”

The ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star Calls Her Family With Nick Her Rock

At the end of the day, the “NCIS: Hawai’i” star finds the most zen in her little family that she’s built with Nick Lachey. The pair shares three children: 9-year-old Camden, 6-year-old Brooklyn, and 4-year-old Phoenix. They look at their move to Hawaii as one of the biggest risks they’ve taken, but they couldn’t be happier with the results. There’s a whole lot of fresh air to breathe and tropical beauty to soak up, which can’t necessarily be said about LA.

Vanessa previously took to Instagram to share a hike from the last day of her 30s where she reflected on everything that lead up to that point. She came to the conclusion that there’s nothing better than family. So that’s what the stacked stones in the photo represent.

“My Family is my foundation, my rock. They are the reason for EVERYTHING I do,” she writes.
