Ahead of tonight’s series premiere, NCIS: Hawai’i star Vanessa Lachey shared a behind-the-scenes montage. The video showed her on the island with her family, the cast, working, meeting others, and more. Lachey is the first female lead ever in an NCIS series.

Through the photos shown, there are set pics, at-home pics, and even a picture of her at a shooting range. It looks like life on the island is treating Lachey and her family well. Not to mention all the great people it looks like she has met along the way.

There have been a lot of great looks at the process this summer. It is all leading up to the Fall premiere which is going to be a truly special night. The new season of the main show aired right before NCIS: Hawai’i premiered for the first time. That is giving fans two hours of action every week on Monday nights.

This is a season unlike any other due to the fact it won’t be backdoored through another series. While there are bound to be crossover episodes, especially with Los Angeles, it will be a stand-alone series. There will be a lot of creativity put into the series while maintaining true to the formula of the previous series. Most of all, more NCIS during the week. That’s a win no matter what.

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Trailer Teased Lots of Action

Vanessa Lachey is playing Jane Tennant as the first female lead. There is going to be a lot of action in the show if the trailer is to be believed. The first episode looks to feature some kind of military plane crashing into the cliffside. Tennant isn’t just an NCIS agent, she is a mom.

Juggling family life while investigating such highly sensitive cases cannot be easy. There will likely be plenty of contradictions and challenges throughout the season. This is going to be a successful series, in my opinion. While the NCIS Pearl Harbor team is going to be new, it has a great cast behind it.

During the trailer, it becomes clear that the plane crash is something bigger. It isn’t just an accident but how Agent Tennant says, “This is a crime scene.”

The department is going to have to recover the technology from bad-faith actors. Or figure out what caused the crash to begin with. Not only that, but Tennant is going to have to lead with a stern attitude. She doesn’t seem to take anything less than what she expects. Strong leaders are a must and it looks like NCIS: Hawai’i has their leader. Fans have already started reacting to the show.
