During a recent interview with People, Vanessa Lachey shares details about her family’s support after she scored the NCIS: Hawai’i role as Special Agent Jane Tennant. “[Nick] said the most supportive thing he could have said,” Vanessa said about her husband’s reaction. “And I just gave him the biggest hug. He said ‘This is your time. And I will do whatever I need to do to support you in that.’”
The NCIS: Hawai’i star also said that her husband stated he has seen her work so hard and it was just her time. The actress then revealed she is constantly telling the creators and producers of the show that she won’t let them down. “And I hope that both young girls and young boys and single moms and moms with spouses ad partners – anybody, really – can just see it for what it’s worth. And that’s that there are no boundaries or limits to what we want and what we can do.”
Following the news that she secured her role on NCIS: Hawai’i, Vanessa moved her family to Hawaii. She told Entertainment Tonight that she and her husband split their career duties 50/50 “When he’s on tour, I try to be home. When I’m shooting something, he tries to be home. So this is working. This is a thing that would take our whole family out of the mainland and bring them very far away.”
The NCIS: Hawai’i star also said that Nick and the Lachey kids are constantly supporting her. “[The kids] think that Hawaii is waterslides, play. I ask them all the time, ‘Are you happy or no?’ And they’re like, ‘yeah!’ So they’re very happy here. They love it here.”
She then added that the kids are “island babies.”
