Cast members of NCIS: Los Angeles did a touching tribute to LL Cool J to congratulate him for his Hall of Fame career. But Daniela Ruah continued to gush about her amazing friend.

She shared a video produced by the NCIS: Los Angeles social media team with her 1.1 million followers. Then added her own personal thoughts about LL Cool J, the guy known to the cast as Todd.

Ruah wrote “Father, husband, friend, colleague, musician, actor, artist, philanthropic visionary, trend setter, culture marking, inspirational, the GOAT! I have so much love, respect and gratitude for you.

“Congrats on the induction to the ROCK N’ ROLL HALL OF FAME LL Cool J from the bottom of our hearts.”

Rest of NCIS: Los Angeles Is So Proud of Music Superstar

The NCIS: Los Angeles Twitter account initially shared the video, Friday, captioning it:

“The man. The myth. The absolute legend. Give it up for LL Cool J.”

The clip includes several scenes of LL Cool J, who portrays Sam Hanna, the former Navy SEAL doing very boss things. And his castmates also talked about their friend, who has been with NCIS: Los Angeles for every episode.

“There’s so much I could say about you as a man, as an artist,” said Caleb Castille, who plays Devin Rountree. Sam Hanna has mentored Rountree on the show.

Chris O’Donnell is G Callen on the show. And he’s Sam’s long-time partner. O’Donnell described LL Cool J as “the Mount Rushmore for hip hop.”

Eric Christian Olsen plays Marty Deeks on the series. He’s married to Daniela Ruah’s Kensi Blye. Olsen said of LL Cool J: “Grace is one of the many things I love about him.”

Meanwhile, Ruah said of her co-star “The world gets to see the fruits of your labor, we get to see the grind.”

Medalion Rahimi, who portrays Fatima, an intelligence analyst, called him “wonderful and such a mentor.”

“This is the definition of a lifetime achievement,” said Rahimi, the youngest full-time cast member of NCIS: Los Angeles. “I don’t know anyone who’s more deserving than you. … You have had such an impact on so many people’s lives.”

LL Cool J Started Musical Career as Teenager

Long before he ever busted terrorists and other hideous criminals on Sunday’s primetime schedule, LL Cool J was entertaining millions with his music. He started his music career as a teenager in Queens, N.Y. That’s when he created the LL Cool J persona. It stands for Ladies Love Cool James. He still goes by his real name in private — James Todd Smith. Now, at 53, he’s considered a hip-hop pioneer. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Halloween weekend.

NCIS: Los Angeles returns with a new episode Sunday night. It’s called Sundown. And here’s how CBS described it: “Sam negotiates and Rountree goes undercover, when a man takes a busload of hostages and threatens to blow it up unless his daughter’s war crimes are posthumously cleared.”
