‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Star Gerald McRaney ‘Has Fun’ With His Job as Admiral Kilbride

by Joe Rutland

Gerald McRaney has been on TV screens a long time. He’s apparently enjoying his time playing Admiral Kilbride on NCIS: Los Angeles.

McRaney, who has appeared as a recurring character on the CBS drama, joined in a full-time capacity this season.

He talks about being on the show in an interview with NBC New York.

“I don’t think any of these people need their game raised at any level at all,” McRaney said. “I have fun with what I’m doing. (And) I don’t think many people in their mid-70s, still working at other jobs, who could say such a thing. I do.”

McRaney has a Primetime Emmy Award to his name for playing Dr. Nathan Katowski on This Is Us.

Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, and Linda Hunt also star in NCIS: Los Angeles.

The show airs on Sunday nights on CBS. Two other NCIS shows, NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i, air on Monday nights also on CBS.

‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Showrunner Said That Ending ‘Is In The Back of Our Mind’

Is the end near for NCIS: Los Angeles? Well, that’s something the showrunner is bringing up.

News is picking up steam with Matt Web Mitovich talking about it in Matt’s Inside Line.

NCIS: Los Angeles showrunner R. Scott Gemmill never gave a formal statement about speculation.

But Gemmill did say that the series finale is in the back of his mind.

Right now, he said that he’s not planning to let the show end abruptly. Especially after airing a cliffhanger season finale.

“We sort of always have [the finale] in the back of our mind,” Gemmill said in 2020. “[But] I will hope to get a heads-up if that is the case, just so that we can go out with an episode, or a bunch of episodes, that really tie up things and send our characters into the future in a way that makes everyone happy.”

Callen Is Definitely Still Looking For Katya and Is On A Mission To Get It Done

Nobody better get in Callen’s way.

The NCIS: Los Angeles character, played by O’Donnell, is still looking for Katya.

The Russian spy does not really want to be found. But he’s hoping that he’ll get her eventually; if only so the arc can play out.

So, Katya is off her rocker and is targeting Callen. Why? We don’t know. It might have to do with Callen’s girlfriend Anna Kolcheck along with her ties to the Russian government. In season 12, Katya captured an ex of Callen’s, Joelle Taylor. She was found disfigured from Katya’s torture.

Katya the Russian government’s clutches and has sidestepped Callen, too, in his attempts to find her.
