NCIS: Los Angeles star Chris O’Donnell is more content being a father of 5 than he is being a celebrity. He told Redbook in 2010 that he was happier not being in huge movies after the success of his Batman role. “I was being offered these huge films that would have taken my career to a different level, and I decided to put on the brakes,” he said. “I knew if I continued on that track, I probably wouldn’t have gotten married.”

O’Donnell married his wife Caroline when he was 26. She was the sister of one of his close friends; one night, three years after they met, he called her up. There was no reason other than he hadn’t stopped thinking about her. Talk about romance.

The two now have 5 kids together and live a modest life in Los Angeles. According to O’Donnell, marriage and family were always important. “I could live the playboy lifestyle, which is not a bad thing to do, or have a traditional family life, which is how I grew up,” he said. “And that was more important to me.”

Chris O’Donnell said that traditions and values were important, and that those values are what holds his marriage together. “Our families have the same values and traditions, and I think that goes a long way,” he said. “Because when the excitement and heat of romance wears off, those are the things you fall back on.”

As the youngest of 7 kids, O’Donnell knows about having a big family. He said of his family, “One of my sisters has four kids and they live in our neighborhood. They’re all inseparable.”

Chris O’Donnell Reveals Cast Follows Fan Theories

Chris O’Donnell has starred on NCIS: Los Angeles since 2009, nearly 13 years. And he’s revealed something about the cast that has fans in a tizzy. While O’Donnell doesn’t necessarily follow the fan theories, he revealed that other cast members and definitely the writers and producers do.

As writers of a big network show, those fan theories can sometimes be vital to their story. Maybe they’re running out of steam and need inspiration, or maybe they come across a theory that takes the characters and plot in an entirely new direction. They may want to incorporate that new direction.

But, Chris O’Donnell said that he just focuses on being the best actor he can be on the show. “I go in and focus on playing the character that I’m playing and trying to understand the world that he’s in,” O’Donnell told ET Canada in February. “I don’t think about the consequences of that at the time or how it’s going to impact fans and what their reactions are going to be.”
