It’s been a bit of a hectic week for a lot of folks with the holiday. That includes “NCIS: Los Angeles” star LL Cool J as well. Still, most of us probably didn’t get inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame like he did. “Don’t let anyone limit your dreams,” the iconic rapper said in an Instagram post reflecting on the career milestone. And while that moment stood as a high from the week, unfortunately, LL Cool J also met a low.

Today, news broke of Virgil Abloh’s death. LL Cool J penned a tribute to the late designer who lost a private battle with cancer at the age of 41. The Instagram tribute involved a heartfelt message about inspiration.

LL Cool J Wants to Remind You About the Importance of Staying True to Yourself and Living Life to the Fullest

Here’s the tribute that the “NCIS: Los Angeles” star shared of Virgil Abloh with his 2.5 million followers. It includes a photo of the late creative who worked closely with designer brand Louis Vuitton and styled the likes of Kanye West and Kid Cudi.

“Live life to [the] fullest and express yourself fully,” the caption starts. It then continues with “You’d be surprised by how many people you inspire.” In the latter portion of the caption, LL Cool J opens up about how the designer inspired him during his lifetime. He signs off with “Rest in power King Virgil” and the comments echo what a great loss it is.

LL Cool J’s Instagram post follows a tweet from a parent company of Louis Vuitton which also expressed their condolences. Virgil worked closely with them as a Creative Director for their menswear collection from 2018 on. Additionally, he acted as the Chief Executive Officer for a Milan-based label called Off-White before his passing.

Like Ice-T and his “cold hard facts,” LL Cool J often shares tidbits of wisdom with his fans.
