NCIS: Los Angeles star LL Cool J shows off a new award being given out on behalf of his lifestyle brand in a new post. The famous musician is behind the “Rock the Bells” cultural influence award being given out at the BET awards. As a major figure in hip hop, Ll Cool J seems excited to show some love to the new generation.
“About to present the very first @RockTheBells Cultural Influence Award. Check out the @BET #HipHopAwards tonight! It’s important that we give love to the new generation as well,” he wrote.
LL Cool J is currently filming NCIS: Los Angeles, but he’s managed to also create a whole award.
BET gave out the award in partnership with Rock The Bells, Ll Cool J’s lifestyle brand that’s named after his famous song. According to BET’s Website, “the award will debut at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards, honoring the massive cultural impact hip hop artistry has on popular culture, bridging the gap between all generations of hip hop lovers.”
The first person honored with the award is Tyler, The Creator. BET says LL Cool J will give the award to Tyler, The Creator to honor “his impressive cultural contributions, talent and unbounded creativity that has cemented him as one of the most innovative forces in music.”
When LL Cool J isn’t Shaking up the Music Industry, He’s Starring on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’
LL Cool J doesn’t only stick to music when it comes to getting creative. He also acts on NCIS: Los Angeles. In fact, he’s starred in the series since it premiered in 2009. Ll Cool J plays special agent Sam Hannah and is currently filming with the rest of the cast for season 13.
How he can continue to grow his brand and make moves in the music industry while also working as the star on a major network series is hard to comprehend, but he seems to have it down.
NCIS: Los Angeles season 13 comes out on Sunday, October 10th, so it’s just around the corner. The series picks up after a relatively positive season 12 finale. Though the season 12 finale saw the departure of two NCIS: Los Angeles characters, LL Cool J s remaining on board as Sam Hannah alongside Chris O’ Donnell as G. Callen.
Season 13 of the hit series will see the return of one of LL Cool J’s most beloved co-stars, Linda Hunt. It’ll also find G. Callen looking further into his past, which will likely cause a rift between himself and Hetty. Sam Hannah will continue to do what he does best: solve cases.
Once it premieres, NCIS: Los Angeles will air every Sunday at 9/8 Central. Its Flagship series, NCIS, and sister spinoff, NCIS: Hawai’i air the next day on Monday nights.
