NCIS: Los Angeles is promising a “powerful episode” with an intense new picture of Admiral Kilbride, whose now a full-time part of the hit series. The show returned last week. The episode this week is called “Fukushu,” and the description of the episode alone is heartbreaking.

According to the description of the episode on IMDB, “NCIS takes the case personally when an LAPD officer’s father, a beloved elderly Japanese American veteran, is the victim of a vicious hate crime.”

In the caption for the photo, NCIS: Los Angeles prepares its fans.

“Sunday scaries don’t exist here. Tune in tonight at 9/8c for the all-new episode of #NCISLA — it’s a powerful one, we can promise you that.”

‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Actor Gerald McRaney Recently Discussed the Show on ‘The Talk’

This is the first season that sees Kilbride actor Gerald McRaney take on a full-time position as a series regular. The actor recently went on ‘The Talk’ to discuss his experience and how he feels about the show. For one, he wants to change the way the media portrays veterans.

With plenty of family members who served, he was sick of seeing veterans portrayed as “crazy” or as unflawed superheroes. For him, they’re just human beings.

“Because I had family and friends who were military people when I got my chance, I wanted to sort of correct the record there that these guys are not crazy and they’re not superheroes. They’re our neighbors. And they’re our families,” he said.

Production was Thrilled to Get McRaney on Full-Time

McRaney’s hilarious and stern Kilbride character has been loved by NCIS: Los Angeles fans for quite some time. Therefore, people were thrilled when they heard that he was coming on the show as a regular. It turns out, production felt the same way.

“When you have an actor of Gerald McRaney’s caliber, you do everything you can to make sure you get him as often as possible,” Showrunner R Scott Gemmill told Deadline. “Admiral Kilbride has been an esteemed part of our universe for seven years now and we look forward to viewers seeing him come in and shake up our NCIS: LA world.”

“He’s so great because he can do comedy, and he can do drama,” Gemmill said. “And he likes to be out running around with guns because he’s a big hunter in real life.”

McRaney joins a very talented cast consisting of Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, and Linda Hunt. You can catch Gerald McRaney and the rest of the NCIS: Los Angeles cast tackle the incredibly tragic subject matter later tonight at 9/8 Central barring any Football-related delays.
