LL Cool J, the superstar hip hop artist and fan favorite on NCIS: Los Angeles, still is reveling in his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
He posted a short video clip that offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at last month’s ceremony in Cleveland.
And the NCIS: Los Angeles star captioned it: “Special moments. Head to my stories to come with me behind the scenes before the Rock & Roll Induction Ceremony tonight on HBO Max.”

LL Cool J’s post featured a condensed clip from a longer version in YouTube. And in the longer clip, LL Cool J says “it really is proof that you can do anything … I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was anything but amazing.”
He also told his fans to “follow that thing inside you … (if you) listen to that voice consistently, you can do amazing things. … But you have to know the difference between the voice inside you and emotions, then you can go to the next level.”
Plus, in some super sweet moments, the 53-year-old LL Cool J also kept exclaiming “Mama, I made it.” The clip showed some of his favorite signature details. He wore a bedazzled pair of red sneakers. There was a glance at the red Audi that graced the cover of his Bad album. And he performed in a sparkly silver sweatshirt and joggers while wearing a silver knit cap.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony and concert happened on Oct. 30. LL Cool J sang some of his greatest hits, then was joined on stage by Jennifer Lopez and Eminem.
HBO Max featured the Rock & Roll induction ceremony and concert Saturday night. It’s now available to stream and on-demand, so you can watch him on both HBO and in Sunday night’s NCIS: Los Angeles.
Before HBO broadcast the ceremony, LL Cool J’s NCIS: Los Angeles castmates taped a touching tribute to their co-star. LL Cool J plays Sam Hanna, a former Navy SEAL turned NCIS special agent. He’s been with the series for all 13 seasons.
Daniela Ruah posted her own thoughts about LL Cool J, who everyone calls Todd while on set. Ruah plays Kensi Blye. Here’s what she had to say about her long-time work friend:
And here’s what Ruah initially posted: “Father, husband, friend, colleague, musician, actor, artist, philanthropic visionary, trendsetter, culture marking, inspirational, the GOAT! I have so much love, respect, and gratitude for you.”
In the video produced by NCIS: Los Angeles, Caleb Castille (Rountree) said “There’s so much I could say about you as a man, as an artist.” Chris O’Donnell, who plays Callen, Sam’s partner, described LL Cool J as “the Mount Rushmore for hip hop.”
Meanwhile, Eric Christian Olsen (Deeks) said of LL Cool J: “Grace is one of the many things I love about him.”
NCIS: Los Angeles returns with a new episode Sunday night.
