We are just two days into the brand-new year, and this is the perfect time to reflect on the things we want to change, plans we want to make, and resolutions we want to follow. Some resolutions are small, some are rather large, and others bring a meaningful addition to the new year. This is evident in the 2022 New Year’s resolutions that former NCIS: New Orleans star, Lucas Black has shared with his Twitter followers.

Early this morning, January 2, Lucas Black decided to kick off the first Sunday of the new year expressing his faith-based resolutions for 2022.

“2022… I want to seek God, pray more, study His Word, trust Him,” the former NCIS: New Orleans star says in the tweet.

“Take a leap of faith,” the longtime actor continues. “and be bold in the face of evil!”

For Lucas Black, this resolution is an important one. And, it’s one he will be able to see through, as long as he continues his faith.

“All of this is possible only through Jesus, not my own strength,” the actor says, adding the hashtags #TrustGod #Jesus and #HolySpirit.

Why Did Lucas Black Exit ‘NCIS: New Orleans’?

Lucas Black portrayed the fan-favorite NCIS: New Orleans Special Agent Christopher LaSalle for much of the popular investigative drama’s successful run.

A native of Alabama, Black’s Special Agent LaSalle charmed fans from the second he first set foot on screen. With his thick southern accent, tireless dedication to his duties, and loveable sense of humor, Black quickly made Agent LaSalle into one of the show’s most memorable and beloved characters.

This, of course, is what made it such a shock to NCIS: New Orleans fans when Black’s character died suddenly while in the line of duty.

An exit from a series such as this is one thing. But a character’s death on a show such as this means the character is never going to return.

Seeing as the beloved character had been such a mainstay in the series for six of the show’s seven seasons, fans were certainly curious as to why the NCIS writers opted to write LaSalle out of the series.

However, according to reports, it wasn’t the decision of the NCIS writers. In fact, it was Lucas Black who had decided it was time for his character to leave the series.

“All throughout my career, there was a concern because I would observe how the entertainment industry would destroy families,” Lucas Black tells Express of his decision to leave NCIS: New Orleans.

“The way it’s run, you’re traveling, it’s a very fast pace, lots of long hours, especially in television,” the actor continues.

“It was time, it was time for me to leave,” Black notes. “I felt like my job there was finished.”
