‘NCIS’ or ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’: Which Show Will Last Longer?

by Hannah Heser

With “NCIS” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” new seasons coming to an end, people are wondering which show will say goodbye first.

TVInsider holds a survey for fans to vote for the show that will remain on the air longer or if they’ll end the same year. About 42 percent voted for NCIS while 33 percent voted for “NCIS: Los Angeles” to be the first to end. And 23 percent think they will end at the same time. However, NCIS has been around the longest, so it would make more sense for it to be the first one to stop airing. But we’ll see what happens in the next year.

Meanwhile, it looks like these shows still have a lot more creativity in store. Although there have been moments during episodes that made fans think it was the finale. For example, “NCIS” showed actor Mark Harmon’s exit from his on-screen role. With him being one of the top characters on the show, fans were certain this was the last season. It will be hard to carry on without the same cast, but what do you think? Do you have any guesses for which show will end first?

‘NCIS’ Vs. ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’

According to TVInsider, “it is likely a question of how long CBS wants to continue “NCIS” without Harmon as the lead. Fans say his exit will be hard to continue watching since it just won’t be the same.

If you search up “NCIS: Los Angeles” on Instagram, you will see the date for the return of this show. It will appear on January 2, 2022 with an all-new storyline.

The social media team made it almost impossible to miss the date, as it’s circled in red ink with all capital letters saying, “NCIS RETURNS!!!!”

“So close, yet so far… Are you ready? Because we’re ready. #NCISLA.”

This is a perfect way to ring in the new year. There is nothing more exciting than an all-new season of a popular L.A.-based show.

On the other hand, NCIS shared a nostalgic post a week ago on Instagram. They’re celebrating all of the fun times they’ve had in another year. Could this possibly be their goodbye?

“Tis’ the season for some #NCIS nostalgia.”

In this post, you will find pictures of the most popular scenes. From Gibbs and Abby looking like they’re working on a plan to the cast preparing for the holidays.

It also seems like fans aren’t ready to say goodbye yet.

For instance, one fan writes, “I miss Gibbs and Abby and Bishop” while another goes, “Need Abby back. She brought so much to the show.”

Even though it seems like the two shows are slowly coming to an end, it is not a for sure goodbye in the 2021-2022 season.
