“NCIS” star Brian Dietzen was in the holiday spirit on Christmas Day, and he posted a sweet little update for fans as we head into the new year. He recently posted a selfie in front of his Christmas tree on Instagram.
“My absolute favorite time of year,” Dietzen captioned his photo. “Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, and happy Saturday to those who don’t! It’s been a great few days with my family in my home state. Feeling blessed, recharged, and looking forward to getting back at it in the new year! Hope you had something to make you smile today.”
Brian Dietzen definitely has something to celebrate this year; he recently penned an episode of “NCIS” that will air in the new year. He co-wrote episode 13, the titled of which is still a mystery. He posted a photo of the script in November, captioning it, “In a word…grateful. We jump into filming this bad boy after the Thanksgiving weekend, and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s my first time writing for the show, and it’s been a great experience.”
So, definitely a monumental year for Dietzen. It’ll be great to see him again when “NCIS” returns on Jan. 3. The episode is titled “Pledge of Allegiance” and the team has to solve the mystery of a Naval Officer allegedly selling classified Navy software using drones. No word yet if anyone dies, so maybe we won’t see Jimmy Palmer in this episode; one thing’s for sure though, and it’s that we can’t wait to see the episode he wrote.
Which ‘NCIS’ Characters Deserve More Love?
There are a few characters we haven’t seen in a while who definitely deserve more screen time. Then there’s the newbie who we haven’t really gotten to know yet. Who are the “NCIS” characters who deserve more love?
First up, there’s Director Leon Vance. Played by Rocky Carroll, he doesn’t show up as much anymore because Carroll has actually been directing more episodes lately. He’s taking a more behind-the-scenes approach to “NCIS”, and that’s all well and good, but we miss Vance. He’s a great character, a family man at home and at work with the team. It would be great to see more of Vance again like we did in the early seasons.
In the same vein, Tobias Fornell deserves some love as well. The former FBI agent was Gibbs’ best friend, and it would be interesting to see how Fornell is doing now that Gibbs is off the grid. The two always had great banter, and an interesting dynamic; Fornell did marry Gibbs’ ex-wife, after all. She ended up leaving Fornell, too, but that’s neither here nor there.
Lastly, we still don’t know much about Jessica Knight, played by Katrina Law. “NCIS” touched on her rocky relationship with her mom in the previous episode, but we don’t know why they weren’t speaking. Getting to know Knight a little better would be great for cementing her place on the NCIS team.
