Alright, NCIS fans — it’s actor Brian Dietzen’s birthday today. If you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to give him a shoutout on social media!
There is no denying that Brian Dietzen is one of the fan-favorite actors on NCIS. Dietzen has been playing the role of Dr. Jimmy Palmer on the show since 2004. In the first few seasons, he appeared in more of a supporting role. However, as time went on, Dr. Palmer was eventually promoted to a series regular. That happened in 2012, the beginning of the hit show’s 12th season.
You may recall that Jimmy Palmer began as the assistant medical examiner under the direction of Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard. Then, in Season 15, Dr. Mallard takes a sabbatical from the agency to go teach at a medical school in New York City. Dr. Palmer then officially takes over the reins as the NCIS Acting Chief Medical Examiner. In a later episode titled, “Bears and Cubs,” Ducky announces his retirement from the position. As a result, Dietzen’s character is permanently promoted to the role.
Ever since then, Brian Dietzen has become a huge part of NCIS and therefore a huge part of our lives. On Sunday, he officially turned 44 years old. The official Twitter account for NCIS wished their star actor a happy birthday on social media.
