Miley Cyrus co-hosted her very own New Year’s Eve Party last night on NBC. “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” was a 2-hour special packed with killer performances, and it might just be a  new go-to for New Year’s Eve events. Co-hosted by Pete Davidson, the Miami-based festivities were star-studded as ever.

Among the slew of jaw-dropping performances of the night, Miley was joined by her younger sister Noah Cyrus for a duet-cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”. Miley took the stage in a silver-fringed jumpsuit that glistened under the stage lights, while her younger sister rocked a statement black dress. The sisters’ vocals blended beautifully, delivering that a strong and powerful performance. Miley’s signature rasp gave the song the attitude it demands, while Noah’s sweet delivery offered an attention-grabbing youthfulness.

Watch Miley and Noah Cyrus Belt Out Dolly Parton Classic

You can watch the performance below!

The Cyrus family clearly has a love and respect for Dolly Parton. The country icon is actually Miley’s godmother! Dolly shared in a 2019 interview how she came into that title back in the 90s. Parton wrecked closely with Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus.

When Miley was born, Parton said she had to be more involved. “I worked with Billy Ray for all those years, when he had ‘Achy Breaky Heart,'” Dolly said. “He worked with me on some shows we did in the early days. He opened some of my shows. We just got to know each other. I wrote a song called ‘Romeo,’ and had him in a video. We just kind of gelled, ’cause we’re both country kids. We had a lot of fun just talking about that. And then when Miley came along, I said, ‘She’s got to be my fairy goddaughter.'”

At the show’s close, Miley remarked, “Tonight’s show was all about being flexible, rolling with the punches, and making the best out of even the worst circumstances. And that resilience shouldn’t end here. Let’s bring that into the New Year with us.”

The 29-year-old singer continued, “We’ve all learned how to expect the unexpected, and rather than see it as a problem, let’s see it as an opportunity. I wish everyone here in Miami and everyone watching from home a happy and healthy 2022. Thank you for making tonight possible. You were really all that I needed to have the ultimate party.”
