‘One Chicago’: What Time Are Tonight’s ‘Fire,’ PD’, and ‘Med’ Finales?

by Shelby Scott

It’s been several weeks since the “One Chicago” franchise debuted any brand new episodes. However, tonight finally marks the premiere of the series’ midseason finales. Now, we can all finally breathe a sigh of relief after weeks spent on the edge of our seats. Read on to find out when “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago PD” will be debuting their new episodes tonight.

From Kick-Off to Send-Off

As always, “One Chicago” will kick off with the midseason finale of “Chicago Med.” The medical drama always debuts as the forerunner for three sister series. According to TVLine‘s lineup, the “Chicago Med” synopsis reveals that tonight’s episode will see Will and Dylan working together to save a four-month-old infant. Meanwhile, both Stevie and Vanessa will continue to struggle in maintaining their secrets.

The hit medical drama precedes the franchise’s flagship show, “Chicago Fire.” The mainstay series promises to unpack a whole lot of scorching scenarios. The outlet’s synopsis shares that paramedic Sylvie Brett will officially present her self-created paramedicine program to the department. At the same time, our young “Brew Crew,” Gallo, Ritter, and Violet, plan to unveil their brand new microbrewery.

However, showrunners reveal that fans should expect to see the long-awaited return of fan-favorite character, Stella Kidd. Tune in to NBC at 9 p.m. ET to see if our wish comes true.

And finally, “Chicago PD” closes out the collective of midseason finales. Like “Chicago Fire,” fans should expect an onslaught of drama and anticipation.

TVLine simply reveals that the FBI will continue to close in on the murder investigation surrounding Roy Walton. Simultaneously, our beloved “Chicago PD” team plans to investigate a potential abduction.

‘One Chicago’ Could Crossover with Another Favorite Franchise

Tonight, fans both anticipate and mourn the arrival of the franchise’s midseason finales. While we may get closure regarding certain season-long storylines, it means about a month without our first responders’ franchise.

To combat those mixed feelings, I thought I’d draw your attention to another franchise development. Soon enough, we could potentially see a crossover with another fan-favorite series.

Both it and “Law & Order” see production by media icon Dick Wolf, although they take place in two very different settings. However, as they’re both headlined by the iconic producer, it makes sense the two hit franchises would eventually encounter a crossover. After all, with such dynamic characters across the board, it would mark quite the milestone in Wolf’s career.

Previously, Wolf had intended for the three series as a whole to crossover with his other hit series, “Law & Order: SVU.” While unfortunately for Outsiders, the event never took place, we did previously see “Chicago PD” crossover with the “Law & Order” franchise.

Now, as we approach a new year, we can only hope the franchise mastermind has something exciting in store for us.
