It seems like the “Pioneer Woman” had a lot to celebrate this holiday season. That also includes a big birthday for her father, as well.
The cooking star shared that her sister as well as her nephew were able to come from Seattle in order to visit for his birthday celebration. Ree Drummond shared a number of pictures of her entire family celebrating his birthday inside of a restaurant decked out in decorations.
She also shared that the entire family absolutely devoured wings, knots, pizza, meatballs, and, of course, what’s a birthday without some cake.
The entire festivity seemed to be a lot of fun for the “Pioneer Woman” and her family. She also shared a really heartfelt message showcasing just how much her father means to her.
“My sister and I both sobbed while attempting to articulate just how much our dad means to us. Loving, caring, self-sacrificing, devoted, committed, quiet, gentle, and kind. All the best definitions of fatherhood, and he has always sought nothing in return…ESPECIALLY attention; this dinner was about all the celebration his introverted soul could have handled … What a dad, what a mighty good dad. We love him,” she wrote on Instagram.
One of Drummond’s kids, Alex Drummond Scott, also commented on the post affectionately, “Papa Bill” with a couple of heart emojis.

In addition to celebrating her father, Ree Drummond and the rest of the family also seemed to have a great time celebrating Christmas.
Drummond has five kids — Alex, Paige, Bryce, Todd, and Jamar. On Christmas, she had almost all her kids together again in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The kids that were present all put on their matching Christmas pajamas, which is a tradition for the Drummond family.
The only one missing on Christmas this year was Alex. She recently got married to Mauricio Scott in May. The newlyweds decided to spend their first Christmas together visiting his hometown of Monterrey, Mexico.
“The way that we’re doing this whole marriage-holiday-thing is we’re doing Thanksgiving with one of our families every year, and then Christmas with the other family, and it’ll flip-flop. So next year we’ll do Christmas with my family,” Alex said, according to the Pioneer Woman blog.
Although she did miss Christmas day, Alex got to spend time before Christmas with her family both in Vail, Colorado, as well as back home in Oklahoma.
As for Ree Drummond and her husband, Ladd, they are adjusting to someday being “empty nesters.” As of right now, they have four of the five kids moved out of the home.
“I used to get sad when the kids left for college. When the girls left, I cried and wailed and mourned. But now, now I just sort of embrace what those changes bring. Right now, it’s bringing a little bit of peace, serenity, and quiet. The kids are almost all grown and we can enjoy them when they come home. But then when they’re gone, we really enjoy that too,” she told People regarding her kids growing up.
