‘Station 19’: Crew Faces First Thanksgiving Without Dean Miller

by Jonathan Howard

Just as the holidays are approaching, Station 19 is going through a very tough time. With the death of Dean Miller, Thanksgiving at the station is going to be melancholy, to say the least.

Facing that reality, what is next for the characters on the show? We don’t have all the answers, but we do have some idea of what is around the corner in tonight’s all-new episode.

It looks like the folks at Station 19 are going to try and pick up the pieces. A photo from an upcoming episode shows that the crew is getting ready for Thanksgiving at the firehouse. Check that picture out here. The show is going to have to deal with what to do with Baby Pru. She is going to need a lot of love and care from the station family. Then, we have a picture shared from the show’s Twitter page. Dr. Deluca looks to be caring for Pru and making sure she has something to smile about.

There will also be plenty of reflection. A tragedy like this makes one think about their own life. What is important, what isn’t? Most of all, who is most important? If there is one thing Vic and the rest of the team are going to take away from this, it should be that last question.

Of course, fans should expect a lot of emotions in this episode. Shonda Rhimes knows how to pull at the hearts and minds of fans. The aftermath of Dean’s death is going to weigh heavy over the crew for a while it seems. Each character is going to process their grief in different ways. It will be interesting to see that play out. Could that mean more conflict on Station 19?

‘Station 19’ Fans Are Worried About Vic

While the processing of grief and the death of Dean is going to affect everyone on Station 19, fans are very worried about Vic. She and Dean had a special bond. While he never revealed his feelings for her, the late firefighter had always wanted to share those feelings. Now, since he is gone, Vic is in a similar position as a former Grey’s Anatomy star.

It was back when Mark Sloan suffered a heart attack following the death of Lexie Grey, he went through a lot of what Vic is going through now. They even had eerily similar quotes. So, fans are now worried that Vic could be the next to go on the show. If that is the case, then things could get really dark over on the ABC drama.

This season is going to test the team at Station 19 and push them to their limits. It is also going to push fans emotionally it seems. If Vic suffers the same fate as Mark Sloan, viewers are going to want some tissues close by. Tonight, reflection and grieving, and perhaps a silver lining or two.
