Station 19 is trying to pull off a Christmas miracle in an upcoming episode. On Thursday, December 16th, the show will air its Christmas-themed fall finale. Many fans are hoping for something a bit more lighthearted and jolly to put them in the Holiday spirit after the tragic death of Dean Miller.

Here’s the episode synopsis:

“‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ – It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the firefighters have their hands full responding to a number of crises throughout Seattle. Putting aside their differences and personal drama, they come together to try and achieve a Christmas miracle on this all-new episode of “Station 19.”

While it wouldn’t be an episode of Station 19 without a crisis or three, it looks like the episode really may try and end on a more lighthearted note than the previous episodes have. Honestly, a lighthearted episode would feel like a Christmas miracle in itself at this point.

The episode will air on Thursday at 8/7 CT on ABC. Like all episodes of Station 19, it’ll be available on Hulu the day after it premieres.

Many Christmas episodes try and go for a rewatchability approach. That way, the episodes can be watched year in and year out. Hopefully, the Station 19 Christmas special will bring some of that lightheartedness and ease of story to its fanbase.

The Recent Death of Dean Miller Shocked ‘Station 19’ Fans

The death of Dean Miller was a really hard pill for fans to swallow, but actor Okieriete Onaodowan wanted to move on from the show to do other projects. In a recent tweet, he thanked production and ABC for the time he spent on Station 19 and said that it changed his life.

“Thank you for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity. Thank you so much. You have changed my life,” he wrote in a Tweet. “Thanks to the fans for showing Dean so much love. I hope he has inspired you to change your world for the better. Be the change!”

His co-stars and producers on the show also wished him well as he enters a new chapter of his life. Many loved his work on Station 19 and are excited to see what he’ll do next.

The writers ultimately decided that a fitting end to Dean’s character would be a tragic one. It’s hard to imagine him just leaving the city, and it’s sadly realistic to see characters working dangerous jobs pass on. Now, the characters in Station 19 have to grieve him. He’ll likely get a mention in the upcoming holiday episode.

Following the holiday episode, Station 19 will take after most other network shows and go on hiatus. It’ll return in early 2022.
