‘The Brady Bunch’ Star Maureen McCormick Shares Tribute for Florence Henderson on 5-Year Anniversary of Her Death

Five years ago today, The Brady Bunch star Florence Henderson passed away. Marcia Brady actor Maureen McCormick shared a tweet on the anniversary of Henderson’s death recognizing the Carol Brady actor’s impact on her life.

For five years, Henderson played Maureen McCormick’s on-screen mother. That dynamic extended beyond The Brady Bunch itself, with McCormick finding a guiding figure in Florence Henderson.

During a 2019 interview with Fox News, the Marcia Brady actor recalled her relationship with The Brady Bunch matriarch.

“The biggest life lessons I have learned came from Florence, and that was, being able to find joy like in a big way. I mean, I spent a lot of time with her before she passed away. And I truly believe she taught me so much about finding joy, and I feel such joy again in my life. You know, I’ve gone through so many different things in my life… pretty amazing,” McCormick told the outlet.

Many of the lessons Florence Henderson taught Maureen McCormick are still with her to this day. One of them has become a guiding philosophy.

“Be around positive, good people that lift you up, that doesn’t tear you down, but just want to nurture you, and you want to nurture them, and you all work together. You know, I think that’s really important,” McCormick continued.

Their bond continued until the Carol Brady actor’s death. In fact, the same week Henderson died, she’d attended a performance of Maureen McCormick’s to support her while she competed on Dancing With the Stars.
