Christmas definitely is a wonderful time for The Brady Bunch star Christopher Knight. He gets to reunite with some old friends.

Knight, who played Peter Brady on the ABC family sitcom, joins Barry Williams, Mike Lookinland, and Susan Olsen on People Presents: Blended Christmas on Sunday night.

He talked about the role and the TV movie in an interview with CBS 8 San Diego.

“It’s a story about two families coming together in matrimony or intended matrimony,” Knight said. “And then the difficulties that therein ensue because families are what they are and sometimes need to reel themselves in a bit. As they are bonding with new folks.”

Yes, these four from the sitcom world do appear in the Lifetime movie. It airs at 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Central.

‘The Brady Bunch’ Star Didn’t Hesitate When Opportunity to Appear With Co-Stars Arrived

Since the original TV show left ABC in 1974, it has lived on thanks to the world of syndication. The Brady Bunch has been seen not only in the United States but worldwide, too.

Still, all these years later, is it really a connection with his TV family that makes Knight feel OK to do so?

In the interview with CBS 8 San Diego, Knight said, “There’s always something that brings us back together. That’s part of the reasoning behind saying ‘Yes, sign me up,’ because we get another experience together. They’re family. It’s like, you know, getting together with family at the holidays.

“These are folks that I met 53 years ago that I haven’t been able to get away from, and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Knight said. “They’ve become family. They really are family.”

Besides Knight and the three other cast members mentioned above, The Brady Bunch starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed, Ann B. Davis, Maureen McCormick, and Eve Plumb.

This show was created by Sherwood Schwartz, who also created Gilligan’s Island just a few years before this sitcom.

Knight Offers Some Tender, Sweet Words About TV Mom When Sharing Pic

While this TV movie stirs memories, there is another picture Knight recently shared that also holds some tender thoughts for the actor.

Recently, The Brady Bunch actor posted a photo of him and Williams with their TV mom, Henderson.

The photo caption reads, “She stole the spotlight as expected.”

Knight put the picture on his Instagram account. A fan shared some kindred thoughts about Henderson and the cast, too.

“We have our own beloved mommies, but if ur really blessed heaven sends u one more!” one fan writes under the photo. “Little did she know, every Friday night heaven blessed us all.”

The show aired on Friday nights on ABC. It helped lead off the network’s primetime lineup.
