Talk about your crossover TV work. This one actor who now appears on Dexter: New Blood actually played a villain on The Dukes of Hazzard.

Who could this be, Outsiders?

None other than actor Clancy Brown. On Dexter: New Blood, which airs on Showtime, he plays Kurt Caldwell, who is the unofficial mayor of Iron Lake.

But we need more info on this work on The Dukes of Hazzard. Brown recently stopped by for an interview with talk-show host/sportscaster Rich Eisen on The Rich Eisen Show.

“I was thrilled because the episode is called Too Many Roscos and we had found a double for Jim Best, who played the sheriff, I can’t remember, and we were going to replace him,” Brown says. “So I got to sit down with Jim Best and I started fan-boying out on him and he just wasn’t interested.”

Eisen asks Brown if he got anywhere near the General Lee, which was the famed car driven by Bo and Luke Duke, played by Tom Wopat and John Schneider.

“Yeah, I think we hijacked it at some point,” Brown says. “But I didn’t know a lot about the show.”

Catch Brown and Eisen chat it up in the full length of their interview.

The Dukes of Hazzard episode that Brown appeared in was in 1983.

‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ Duke Boys Hood Slide Was Completely Acccidental

Here’s an interesting tidbit for fans of The Dukes of Hazzard.

Remember the hood slide the Duke boys would do? It all started due to an accidental moment.

Additionally, one of the show’s stars hurt himself while doing it.

This hood slide took place on the show’s second episode.

Action movie stars and everyday folks alike have tried the hood slide with varying degrees of success. However, Tom Wopat was trying to do something else entirely.

Here is the entire story about it. According to Autos 101, Wopat was attempting to jump over the hood. He botched it.

His foot got caught on the way over. So, he ended up making history instead. Wopat actually hit the antenna of the car on his way over and injured himself.

Instead of another take, they kept it in the show.

Remember, this is The General Lee. It is an iconic car in the world of TV lore.

This epic way that they get in and out of the car is something that people remember. Wopat put himself in the annals of trivia when it comes to The Dukes of Hazzard. Add this to the Daisy Dukes shorts and you might have some trivia to use on your friends.
