OK, here’s some solid news for all of you fans of The Golden Girls. Get ready to spend some time with three of them on The Golden Palace.

Yes, the spin-off of the popular NBC sitcom has a home for its episodes on Hulu.

Outsiders, we did say three of them because only three members of the OG cast moved on to this show. Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty continued playing their characters from The Golden Girls. That would be Rose Nylund, Blanche Devereaux, and Sophia Petrillo, respectively.

Bea Arthur, who played Dorothy Zbornak, didn’t follow along as she got married in the series finale of The Golden Girls. This spin-off simply picks up where that original series ended.

Let’s get some more information about this from an article on Deadline.

The Golden Palace ran for one season on CBS in the 1992-93 season and was canceled. Others in the cast included Don Cheadle and Cheech Marin.

This release of the sitcom’s 24 episodes comes days before White celebrates her 100th birthday.

One thing unique about The Golden Palace is that it has not been available for streaming services. Now, this spin-off and the rest of The Golden Girls episodes can be streamed through Hulu.

White is the lone remaining cast member from both series still alive.

‘The Golden Girls’ Stars Betty White, Rue McClanahan Starred On Another TV Show

Imagine watching Betty White and Rue McClanahan on The Golden Girls and going, “Hey, where have I seen them before?”

We understand as classic TV fans how much that question rattles around our heads, too.

Let’s see where they popped up before, Outsiders. Ah, here it is. Mama’s Family.

White played Ellen Jackson and McClanahan played Frances Marie Crowley on this sitcom. Vicki Lawrence played Thelma Harper, or Mama. This series was a spin-off of the famed The Family sketches on The Carol Burnett Show.

Crowley worked for a local newspaper. Jackson was the oldest of Thelma and Carl Harper’s three children.

They both just stayed on the show for two seasons.

How Many Episodes of NBC Sitcom Did White Appear In Before Show Ended?

White already was a TV pro when she played Rose on The Golden Girls.

Just how many episodes did she appear in on the NBC series? White was on there for a total of 208 episodes. Ironically, she also played Rose in three spin-offs of the original show. They were The Golden Palace, Empty Nest, and Nurses.

In 2010, White picked out her top 5 TV roles for Entertainment WeeklyShe chose Life With Elizabeth, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls, Ally McBeal, and The Practice/Boston Legal.
