‘The Rookie’: The Team Faces an Even Bigger Threat in Upcoming Episode

by Taylor Cunningham

We have the synopsis for The Rookies Season 4 Episode 11 titled End Game. And as you’d suspect with a name like that, it sounds intense.

The episode will be the second installment after the series comes back from its fall hiatus next month. But because we haven’t watched the winter debut yet, we don’t know a lot about End Game.

However, here’s what ABC has to say about the episode:

“The team must rely on a criminal for his expertise to help take down an even bigger threat. Meanwhile, Officers Chen and Bradford investigate the murder of an unhoused teenager who used to be friends with Tamara.”

The fall finale of The Rookie left a lot of questions on the table. And one of those questions had to do with Nolan’s new love interest, Bailey Nune. While the two were attempting to enjoy a romantic date, Bailey’s husband—yes, husband—showed up and ruined the evening.

To make the situation even more interesting, Bailey’s betrothed is an ex-con. And perhaps he’s “the criminal” who helps the team in the synopsis. Either way, that is sure to blow things up next month. We can only assume the love triangle will play into End Game. And it may be a lasting plotline throughout season 4’s 12 remaining episodes.

But whatever is ahead on The Rookie, we won’t have to wait long to watch it start to play out. The series returns on January 2nd at 11/10 p.m. C on ABC.

Things are Going to Heat up for Tim Bradford on ‘The Rookie’

Tim Bradford has had a lackluster love life ever since his ex Rachel moved away during season 2. But after this month’s fall hiatus, things will start heating up for the officer.

According to a segment of TVLines Matt’s Inside Line, Ashley McGrady will be coming back to the screen. And she’ll be Bradford’s new love interest.

As of yet, Ashley has only appeared in one episode of The Rookie. During the show on November 7th, sparks definitely flew between the two. But she never came back into Bradford’s life, which was a little disappointing.

However, it looks like the couple has been keeping in touch off-screen.

“We have some episodes upcoming where we see [Tim and Ashley] together,” showrunner Alexi Hawley revealed. “And in the same way we saw with Rachel.”

Though, it doesn’t look like Ashley will be Tim Bradford’s true love. We all know that title belongs to Lucy. And Hawley teased that the new relationship may actually be a catalyst to finally get Bradford and Lucy together.

“One of the stories we’re going to get into down the road is it’s a bit hard for Tim to date because he’s a bit of a control freak,” Hawley continued. “Ashley (played by Helena Mattsson) gets frustrated that he doesn’t like trying new things because he gets new things every day on the job. And the only person who really understands that the best is Lucy.”
