Earlier this week, The View announced that one of the daytime talk show hosts, Whoopi Goldberg had tested positive for COVID-19. Now, it seems another cohost on The View is taking a COVID-related break after a reported “close contact” with the virus.

Longtime The View host, Sara Haines was absent from today’s episode on Tuesday, January 4.

Taking Hainse’s place as the host takes some time away from the morning news show is actress and comedian Yvette Nicole Brown.

“THIS MORNING: Our friend @YNB joins us LIVE to guest co-host!” announces The View’s Twitter page early this morning.

Longtime host of The View, Joy Behar made the announcement that Sara Haines would be sitting out the episode of the popular morning talk show early this morning.

This announcement came shortly after the talk show posted about Yvette Nicole Brown’s guest appearance.

The View fans also learned of Hainse’s close contact with the virus during Joy Behar’s announcement at the top of the January 4 episode.

Joy Behar told viewers that “Sara was in close contact.”

“So she’s not here,” the daytime talk show host adds.

“It’s like Agatha Christie, ‘And then there were three,’” Behar continues in the early morning revelation.

While Joy Behar did note that her fellow The View cohost had not tested positive for COVID-19, she did say that Sara Haines would be taking the morning off and “laying low today.”

During the Monday, January 3 episode of The View, Joy Behar appeared on the show from home virtually; as did Sara Haines and The View co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro.

Members of The View have been hit hard this holiday season as Ana Navarro’s mother passed away just before Christmas. The host’s father later tested positive for COVID.

Additionally, The View’s Hostin notes that she and her mother both received positive COVID tests shortly before Christmas. Both have recovered from the virus.

Furthermore, Sara Haines’s close contact with the virus came through her husband, who has recently tested positive for COVID-19. Haines’s tests have continued to come back negative for the virus.

The hosts of The View will continue to appear virtually as Whoopi Goldberg remains on break. Goldberg is expected to return to her hosting duties on the popular talk show as early as next week.

There has been no word as of Tuesday afternoon regarding whether or not Sara Haines will be returning to her post on The View during the Wednesday, January 5 episode of the talk show.
