‘The Voice’: Here’s What Songs the Contestants Will Perform

by Jonathan Howard

The finale of The Voice is upon us and that means final performances and more from the remaining contestants. So, what will they perform?

This season there are no original songs. While that doesn’t give us the full picture about these artists as we have seen in the past, that’s alright. We’ll see these remaining acts sing their hearts out and fans will have a good time.

Fans will get to hear the artists do two different types of songs. Each act will perform a ballad as well as a more upbeat, standard song. So, there will be some diversity here. Let’s get into what each artist is set to perform.

First, let’s start with Girl Named Tom and Hailey Mia, both from Team Kelly. To kick things off, the formerly mentioned trio band will play a hit from The Foundations as well as Fleetwood Mac. Those songs will be Baby Now That I’ve Found You and The Chain. Both of those songs will fit the style of the group well.

Mia is going to take on a couple of more modern hits. idon’twannabeyouanymore by Billie Eilish and deja vu by Olivia Rodrigo. Again, these songs are in her style and the young pop singer should be able to bring them to life on stage.

Team Blake Duo Ready to Rock the Stage and Make Us Cry

Team Kelly has two strong acts with Girl Named Tom and Hailey Mia on The Voice. However, the duo that Team Blake has might be the ones to beat. Especially Wendy Moten. The R&B singer has shocked crowds and impressed Shelton the entire season. Of course, there is also Paris Winningham.

While these song choices are not at all surprising, they should be strong performances. If the artists aren’t taking any risks creatively, then the fundamentals and everything should be there. They should also be elevated during the finale. It is the last chance to really prove something to the coaches and to America.

Moten is taking on Somewhere Over the Rainbow that classic we all know so well. Then she will sing How Will I Know by Whitney Houston. Houston songs have been popular with Moten and it is not surprising she’s doing another one.

Winningham is singing Mr. and Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul and finishing things off with Ain’t Nobody by Chaka Khan and Rufus. All of these songs should be performed at very high levels tonight on The Voice, even if they are safe choices for the singers.

Of course, John Legend has an artist still in the running.

‘The Voice’ Team Legend and Jershika Maple

Team Legend is just down to Jershika Maple, however, that isn’t a bad thing. She will sing I’m Going Down by Mary J. Blige as well as Rolling in the Deep by Adele. Again, the same as before, predictable, but that’s alright.

The Voice finale is coming and fans are getting geared up for the big night of singing and the likely emotional time that follows.
