On Monday night, the Top 10 contestants on “The Voice” performed for millions of viewers at home as well as the four coaches. During this live show, contestants had to overcome “Challenge Week.”
This is when the artists had to pick a song outside of their typical genre to reimagine and perform.
Then, last night was time for yet another round of Tuesday night eliminations. The 10 contestants were reduced to eight that would move on to the Season 21 Semi-Finals.
So, who stay and who sang their last note on “The Voice” stage?
Contestants Voted Off from ‘The Voice’ Last Night
America’s votes were able to save seven different contestants from elimination. That includes Paris Winningham from Team Blake, Jim and Sasha Allen from Team Ariana, Girl Named Tom from Team Kelly, Wendy Moten from Team Blake, Joshua Vacanti from Team Legend, Lana Scott from Team Blake, and Hailey Mia from Team Kelly.
That left three contestants on the chopping block and immediately qualified them for the Wildcard Instant Save.
Jeremy Rosado from Team Kelly tried to lasso in all the country viewers watching “The Voice” at home. He performed the Rascal Flatts song “What Hurts the Most” to try to win over voters. Holly Forbes from Team Ariana Grande was also up for elimination. She decided to take on one of Kelly Clarkson’s popular powerhouse songs, “Because of You.”
Although her performance seemed to fall a bit flat (quite literally in the chorus), Ariana Grande was quick to defend her team member. She said, “This to me does not make any sense. Go back and listen to ‘Last Dance’ again. It will.”
Jershika Maple Gets the Save
Lastly, Jershika Maple performed a cover of the song “What Is Love” by Empire Cast. Her powerful rendition of the emotional ballad was enough to land her a spot in the Semi-Finals next week thanks to the Wildcard Instant Save.
The coaches were absolutely stunned by the bottom three for this week. Ariana Grande was especially emotional as she learned Holly Forbes would have to try to earn her way back into the competition. “This, to me, does not make any sense. And I say this with so much love and affection for everybody, because everyone is so brilliant on the show, but you have been a vocal titan, Holly,” Grande said.
As for Jershika Maple, she was also incredibly emotional during Tuesday’s episode. During Monday night’s episode, she performed a stunning version of Paramore’s hit track “Ain’t It Fun,” but quickly realized the bottom three was far from fun.
The coaches sent a lot of love Maple’s way. She responded, “Thank you. This show really saved me. I have never been so free. I fell in love with music even more. Tonight I fought, and when you fight, it’s in God’s hands.”
